@cyclesinthedark @Mikehomeseller @vivien2112 I think the Brown mix is ... mixed. After a couple of listens, I think the remaster has definitely enhanced the original, but his remix doesn't really make any radical improvements, and his remix of Red Sector A is vastly inferior.

Seriously, Vinnie Appice is one of the all time great drummers but criminally underrated. His snare work is as good as it gets. Never smashes fuck out of his crash cymbals all the way through a chorus. Grooves like a mofo! Brilliant, brilliant drummer! 😎🤘

Well, I'm on a Dio trip, so let's keep it going with albums I've not listened to in decades. Ladies and Gents, it's 'Sacred Heart'. The tour I first saw RJD live. Edinburgh Playhouse May 9th 1986. I was 17. A mere 39yrs ago! 😳

Ok, I'm putting this out there. Jimmy Bain and Vinnie Appice are an elite level rhythm section. Like, up there with the best ever. Tone, technique, locked in, play for the song not for their own ego.

Oh, and the song 'All The Fools Sailed Away' has always been one of my absolute favourite Dio tunes. And Vinnie Appice's drumming ... 👌

At least 20yrs since I listened to 'Dream Evil' by Dio. Saw a reel mentioning it and thought, fuck me, I've not listened to that in at least 20yrs, wonder if it's still as great as I thought it was when it came out? Well, yes, yes, it is! 😎🤘 And Jimmy Bain's bass tone ... 👌
