@JosephFinn I don't know why there was a problem with the original Marvel/DC compromise: the character remains Captain Marvel, but the book has to be titled SHAZAM! That seemed like an eminently sensible arrangement.

I've always thought "Shazam" was kind of a dumb name for the hero.
1. The wizard's name is already Shazam.
2. The hero literally can't introduce himself. "Nice to meet you, Amy. I'm Shazam--" BOOM! "--uh, Billy Batson."
