@chris_hurney Speaking of #NoEstimates … the constant shouts of “troll” came from pro-NE advocates, who just couldn’t stand anyone with differing views, & who constantly called NE critics “moron, idiot, troll” & worse. There was no “epic level trolling” from NE critics. Just counterarguments.

Speaking of #noestimates ... I read recently that Rocket-man-Mars-boy is going to remove blocking on X? Man, that is going to cause the return of some epic level trolling from a couple of guys that nearly 100% of people involved in the conversation had blocked years ago!

@WillJeakle Speaking as a parent who just had an extended argument with his 12-year-old about how “alright” is never acceptable for “all right”…. :)

@TotherAlistair @CliffordBerg @Grady_Booch LOL. This is priceless. You actually quoted his fairly lengthy tweet *in its entirety*, yet you still get accused of misquoting. I feel like many Agile pundits can be prone to such disconnects; I faced similar baseless accusations from such folks during the #NoEstimates wars.

backlogs, estimations, sprints, etc. are things that everyone takes for granted... but few people question. what problem are they solving? did you just accept them without first facing it? what's the return on investment? could it be solved other way?

@PeterKretzman I've seen this happen in the following cases: * Person only knows the minute details and hopes the listener can piece things together and know * Person knows, but is afraid of the consequences of telling the truth #NoEstimates?

An unfortunately common technical pattern: Q: You had said you'd complete this last Friday. It's not complete; how much longer do you now expect? A: <provides a spate of minute technical details, and doesn't answer the actual question> #NoEstimates?

@davefarley77 These are old, tired points made for 11+ years. Videos like this one simply repeat them, & ignore the many counterpoints that have been raised (e.g., google “the case against #NoEstimates”). As such, it’s clickbait, looking for disgruntled developers to smash that Like button.

As with politicians: when you see a pattern of overt and extreme misrepresentations like this one from Yaccarino, there’s absolutely no reason to trust *anything* the person says. Investors and customers should (and do) run away.

Oh my god. When Linda Yaccarino said that Visa was a “returning advertiser” she meant the company spent $10 on Twitter ads in the last 12 weeks. Not ten million. Not ten thousand. Ten dollars.

@bcantrill Yes. It’s not uncommon for tech fad evangelists (looking at say #NoEstimates or #MobProgramming) to claim 10x productivity, or even “orders of magnitude productivity increase”, although it usually turns out they don’t understand that “orders of magnitude” means at least 100x.

Next week, the most arrogant person I have ever met in my life (yes, that's really saying something!) is going to release a programming platform that will offer a "100X" gain in productivity -- and I'm not sure there's enough time to make all of the popcorn I will need

@AndiMann The subsequent seasons also now seem more and more like a documentary to me. Gavin is quite akin to Elon.

@rebeccamakkai Shudder. I’m a guy, yet this sort of thing is why I don’t watch war movies.

Well, I downloaded and started looking at Threads. What’s interesting is that I have extremely low overlap with people I’m connected to on Instagram and people I’ve tended to converse with on Twitter.
