We make our own windows. They are high-quality tilt and turn windows, often floor-to-ceiling. We didn't have to offer triple-pane windows, floor to ceiling, but our cost savings (reduction in skilled labor & labor hours altogether) allow us to overspend on over-engineering some aspects of our homes. FYI, making your own window-making station that fits into containers IS NOT EASY.

@tradesearcher Makes sense, what % of rev do you typically see from maintenance contracts? / what % would you consider good ?

@PeterLHass True it’s not as good as SaaS for sure, but it’s pretty good. Maintenance leads to service which leads to replacements so even if only 20% of revenue is recurring 60%+ of revenue can be recurring.

The crazy part is that these companies were at 80% at acquisition and over 90% upon exit. That’s how you build value.
