My daughter and I have been having a wonderful visit to the Chipping Camden area, where my father was born in 1927…99 years ago. We found my grandfather’s grave and gave it a good cleaning.

Guess where we stayed last night! Fosse Farmhouse dates from 1750 and is the “home” of Alice Cartelet. I, uh, slept in Alice’s bed. Hope that doesn’t sound creepy.

Well that was quite an experience. Off to Bath and Alice’s house from Kin’moza now!

I fulfilled my lifelong dream to have Indian food in London. Chicken Tikka Masala was described as “England’s national dish” and it was excellent.

Today I learned that the “knight bus“ from #HarryPotter is a reference to this “night bus.“ That went right over my head, let me tell you.

Trafalgar Square, motherfucker! Thanks to @holland_tom and @dcsandbrook for educating us on the importance of Lord Nelson.

Although I should be freaking out about how expensive the UK is coming from weak currency Japan, I don’t actually think of the country as being super expensive. I don’t notice price gouging, even in tourist-ey areas, and the lack of having to pay a 20% tip is a dream.

Resting in a pub now. They have these cool hand-pump beers that I've never seen before. The beer/ale/whatever is not carbonated and is room temperature, probably a lot closer to what people back in the day drink. posh af

My daughter and I got caught up in the huge traffic mess around Parliament this morning, but at least we got to see the King and Camilla zip by. (do I call her Queen Camellia?)

During sightseeing in London today, nothing prepared me for here. It's like 22:00, and the Royal Guard is playing "Galaxy Express 999," which is an esoteric pop song about the 1978 Galaxy Express 999 anime.

One of the amusing things about visiting a new city is seeing what sushi restaurants they have. This is Sushi no Ya, or Sushi House, which sounds off to us. The most hilarious one we ever saw was Moshi Moshi sushi in Miami.

I really wanna know what “Taiga” means to people in Scotland.

Day five of my dream #Outland Scotland tour. Sadly, they don’t allow you to go onto the Craigh na Dun hill. I guess they can’t have everyone time traveling back into the past.

I love local variations of McDonald’s. Also, having milk in a little tube like this is a great idea!

Driving to Inverness today, via Lallybroch from #Outlander… I just had to stop and get some “Macciesbreakfast” because it’s wet and cold outside.

This is the grave of Alexander Murray, a self-taught linguist who basically figured out that all languages probably came from an unknown ancestor based on how words change phonetically between languages. Unfortunately, he died of consumption (hepatitis) age 37.

Day two of wandering around Edinburgh. One thing I love about the modern era is, you can take a photo of a grave and have Claude give you the background on the person buried there.
