Thread: There is an increasingly irrational and unhinged quality to both Trump's and Israel's narrative of their war on Iran and Lebanon. The strategic rationality of both Iran's legitimate self-defense against a war of aggression and Hizbullah's resistance to the annexation of southern Lebanon, which the counter-sovereign Lebanese government has been almost desperately trying to hand over to Israel on a silver platter, has become impossible to deny and it explains more about what we are witnessing than any theory about Trump's madness or crude propaganda. 1/5

When I was detained under the Schedule 7 of the Terrorism Act (10 February 2026) - presumably because they didn't know what to do with me whilst awaiting instructions from @metpoliceuk - I put it to the officer interviewing me that don't they think they should be arresting the Rabbi who was supporting terrorism...and whose son was in the IOF? Her reply? If anyone came through Liverpool port and I felt I had cause to stop them, I would. The Rabbi? Really?!! Yes, I would. I told her - you wouldn't dare. Because you'd not have your job by the end of the week. The entire system bends over backwards for one group and one group only.

@declassifiedUK And just to prove a point here is the head of the Met Police in talks with Sir Mark Rowley

National Press Club platforming Israeli ambassador - knowing IDF killed 250+ journalists - for lunch chat. In the same week Israel admits doctoring Lebanese journalist image after murder. Disgraceful & dystopian yet somehow still shamelessly in full view, to be broadcast on ABC

I'm pretty sure no one in Lakemba sent their kids to elite private schools. But in saying this I'm sure the Greens know they have this class problem and I'm sure Labor are keen to exploit this rupture.

In Lakemba the Greens put up Mehreen Faruqi cornflutes. I thought this was quite cynical, especially because of the large class difference between someone like Mehreen and the people who live in this high density low income area.
David Milner@DaveMilbo

Question: Why do you think the Australian Greens can't seem to bust out of the 10-14% range of the vote? Hostile media? Too beuigose? Their candidates? Their messaging? Their Their name? Is Australia just innately pro-war, pro-racism, pro-fossil fuels? The party seems stuck.

My western sydney gay brain cannot fathom our states banning anti genocide protests and the river to the sea phrase. I'm so ready to tap out.

Any adult that is trying to do Harry Potter TV discourse needs to be shamed more. Grow up. Watch some real movies or TV. We have created a bunch of millennial infants who can't deal.

And it's done. As always the physios are saints: kind, gentle, generous with their information & time. I just wish it didn't take a full day from my week. O well. Let's see what CityRail does to my 90 minute return trip on a rainy day...
The Ape Descendant@ape_descendent

It takes 90 minutes for me to get to the hospital for Physio each week. My appointment should have started 2 hours ago, but I'm still waiting. I'm not one to complain about medical care but there's got to be a way for this _not_ to take my entire day.

If you are an ethnic gay in Australia and you only chase white Australian men your experience is "you are the hottest guy in the world" or "can you be my subplot"

Still here at Canterbury Hospital. The appointment was supposed to finish at 1.45pm. It's 230pm and he hasn't seen the doctor. I've got work at 4pm. Let's all talk about privilege discourse in the arts.

Privilege? Wait till I tell you who gets to publish and write books. Wait till you find out about Nicole Kidman, Troye Sivan. Wait til you find out about gay and women directors who came up through programs designed for *minorities* and what their families did.

Oh Chappel Roan launched privilege discourse & arts on the timeline? I have thoughts. Currently I'm sitting next to my dad because he's old and needs a translator. We are in the public hospital. After his appointment I'm going to my min wage service job to do nightshift.

My old wog folks gave me a pomegranate from their tree and has a piece of fruit been so triggering to any of the diaspora in literature and art almost as bad as the hands in the dough trope.
