Last night’s large wave of Russian missile and drone strikes on Kyiv is a war crime. Killing civilians is a war crime. The response of the free world must be more support for Ukraine, more pressure on Russia. Moldova stands with Ukraine and its brave people.

@PeterS40752685 @NeilPHauer They already vote in Moldovan elections as Moldova considers Transnistria to be an integral part of its territory.

An underappreciated side effect of the Russia-Ukraine war is that at some point Transnistria will cease to exist. It's economically, militarily and politically untenable. Ukraine and Moldova/Romania just haven't worked out how to deal with the aftermath yet.

@NeilPHauer But then those 300k pro russians would vote in the Moldovan elections and Moldova would get a russian puppet government. That would be worse than having trannystria as a neighbour.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces could (and want to!) occupy and eliminate 'Transnistria', which they could do in the space of an afternoon. At some point Moldova will assent to it, we're just waiting on the details.

Our responses to Russia’s prolongation of the war and its attacks on our cities and communities are entirely justified. This time, Ukrainian long-range sanctions reached the Moscow region, and we are clearly telling the Russians: their state must end its war. Ukrainian drone and missile manufacturers continue their work. I am grateful to the Security Service of Ukraine and all the Defense Forces of Ukraine for their precision.
