@susanworld All places I'd love to visit once. But when? I'm a complete music passionate and will easily visit 60 opera performances next summer. And I have a profound love for Italy. I need 20 more lives... help! 😂

Nice to be working with music and traveling to nice locations as well. I’m a huge history, art, and philosophy fan. I’ve also travelled a lot to beautiful European cathedrals, including Florence a few times. And not that far away from Speyer are Reims (France) with two beautiful cathedrals, and Metz. True, each of them has a slightly different atmosphere, but all are fascinating in their own way, at least for me.

Oh wow! They built this chapel in the so-called Dark Ages. What were they thinking? Pilgrims climbed 268 steps towards Saint-Michel d’Aiguilhe's in search of salvation. A reminder of what a civilization can build when faith still reaches for the sky.

@Strijder124 Tuurlijk Jelle.

@susanworld Good for you. 🙂 I'm a conductor and music critic and travel a lot abroad, visiting orchestras and opera houses. Mostly Italy, where I sit in front of cathedrals and domes a lot, sometimes hours. I find German churches sometimes 'spirituality inaccessible', dont know why exactly

@PeterSchlamilch I found Speyer Cathedral fascinating. It also has a huge crypt and was the burial site for early German kings and emperors. And thanks for the nod, I like this Socrates line about independent thinking and questioning.

Apparently Jesus is in Italy speaking into a microphone… It’s the wrap of The Resurrection of the Christ, directed by Mel Gibson and shot in Italy! 🇮🇹🎬 No spoilers… but this might be one of those films everyone’s going to be waiting for

@JScotteswood • Francesca da Rimini (c. 1255–1285) • Paolo Malatesta (her brother-in-law) Francesca tells the story (Paolo weeps silently). She had been married for political reasons to Gianciotto Malatesta (Paolo’s crippled older brother). Paolo and Francesca spent a lot of time ⬇️

@JScotteswood I looked it up: In the second circle of Hell (the circle of the lustful), Dante (the pilgrim) encounters two souls who are swept together in an eternal storm. This symbolizes how their passion tossed them about in life like a whirlwind. The souls are: ⬇️

@mamboitaliano__ What a remarkable achievement. Very special. If you, deat Giorgia, manage to rein in the communists and other leftists, you'll make it to September 4th as well. Good luck. And beautiful picture!

Whether you like her or not Today Giorgia Meloni’s government officially becomes the second longest in the history of the Italian Republic 🇮🇹 If it reaches September 4th, it would become the longest ever Considering Italy is a country with very strong political instability

🇮🇹 Meloni's coalition has just become the second longest-serving since WWII, hitting 1,288 days today and surpassing Berlusconi's fourth government by a single day. For a country that averaged nearly one government per year for 80 years, it's a miracle. If the coalition survives until September 4, it will overtake Berlusconi's second government and become the longest-serving postwar Italian government in history.

@mamboitaliano__ Richard Wagner visited Ravello in 1880. He was so overcome by the beauty of the location that he imagined the setting as the garden of Klingsor in the second act of Parsifal. I've been there twice. Magical place with bars named Klingsor and hotels Parsifal. Enchanting.

@mamboitaliano__ Interesting... i'd like to offer another perspective. Milions of people queue to see reality, not tweets with opinions. They want to see what timeless greatness is, as opposed to overnight trends. They are happy to sweat in line to witness history and feel they've been a part it.
