Delighted to attend the inaugural professorial lecture of my hoamahi at @VicUniWgtn, Prof Cathy Iorns.

And so Ellis J’s creative attempt to get around Chapman and its prohibition on suing the state of NZ for judicial errors failed. The way is now clear for the Supreme Court to hear directly arguments that Chapman was wrong, as it did gave leave in Putnam.
