The lady checking in has a service dog with her. The hotel clerk has told her there will be an extra $80 charge for the service dog. The clerk even asks what service does the dog supplies for her. The woman quickly responds with “mobility issues” even though she does not have to share that information. The clerk calls her manager and the manager tells the clerk she must add the charges to the lady’s bill. Under the ADA federal civil rights law, the hotel cannot charge a fee for services dogs. The lady calmly lays a card with the stated laws on the desk for the clerk to read, but she refuses. Would you call the Department of Justice and file a complaint against this hotel chain? Would you make this chain go viral for discrimination?

The Ford government is trying to hide government records by excluding cabinet ministers from freedom of information requests. What is Ford trying to hide? The government is supposed to work taxpayers, not the other way around. Ford needs to backtrack IMMEDIATELY.

@ColinDMello Dear @fordnation Family Day is for everyone. One day off for Retail warriors should be no different than any other employee in Ontario If you force this, make sure it's voluntary for employees to work. Holiday pay plus time and a 1/2 pay for the day. No volunteers, no opening.

The Ford government confirms our story that it will allow stores and malls to open on Family Day and Victoria Day. BTW: The Ontario Legislature is currently on an extended Christmas break (Dec 12 - Mar 23). The legislature also takes breaks on stat holidays. MPPs voted to give themselves a raise and a pension last year. #onpoli

@jamiljivani Do better, promoting hate is not free speech. The Bill would create a new hate crime offence that is motivated by hatred based on race/national or ethnic origin/language/color/religion/sex/age/mental or physical disability/sexual orientation or gender identity or expression.

We can protest, too. But we do it when rights are actually under attack.
