In my opinion, Syberberg's best. After the maximalist gestures of his previous films, here he reduces the medium to its most primordial formal devices. A body in dialogue with a camera. Light and shadow. Feels like both the first and last film ever made.

Luminous Woman (1987) Some of Somai's most hypnotic choreographies

Le Voyage en ballon (1960) Jules Verne by way of Malick. Sublime documentary images interspersed with brilliantly choreographed slapstick. Feels like it should be every child's first movie. Pure cinematic spectacle.
