So no, I will not treat this as a law and order matter. Protesters are in hospital wards because the State did what the State was built to do & the party at the helm did what every party at the helm does, deny, deflect and reward the attackers. Change the govt and only the flag changes. Remember that. 10/10

Those garlanding #police force with words today & today that means #BJP supporters, should study history carefully. This same machine once cracked down on their own movement's yatras and agitations. The State remembers no loyalty. When the chair changes, the same lathi will land on saffron shoulders again. 9/10

#Delhi protestors are lying in hospital beds with broken bones & stitched scalps. Understand who did this to them. Not a rogue officer, not one party. The State, the permanent machinery of control that every govt inherits & aims at its own citizens. Today #BJP holds the trigger. That is all. 1/10

After CCTVs were widely installed across cities, unruly mobs and real anti-social elements (not the ones assigned that name by the #Hindutva ecosystem) learned to hide their identities. Kerchiefs over faces, then stone pelting. That has been the criminal's playbook against the camera. Today I witnessed #DelhiPolice using that exact playbook. Kerchiefs tied over their faces, pelting stones at protesters. A historic day for India's unprofessional policing. When the police copy the criminal's methods to escape the criminal's accountability, the mask is the confession. Slow claps, #DelhiPolice. And with the footage running on every phone in the country, #DelhiPolice tweets that nothing happened and everything was 'professional'. The kerchief hid the face. The press release is hiding the crime.

You are wrong. Secularism the principle, is simply the separation of the church from the government. The individual in this case, Vijay, is free to keep it on his desk and seek comfort from it so long as he or his government does not interfere in matters of religion. The idea that secularism means “all religions are equal” and you are only secular if it is a bharata vilasam style setup with major sunderrajan in a pagdi, you have no clue about what secularism actually means. TN is, by definition not a secular state. We have HR&CE ministry actively interfering in matters of faith.

Grievous hurt is a crime whether committed in uniform or not. 99.9% of this #DelhiPolice force chose to commit it on camera. The 0.1% who chose to help the bleeding will be remembered. So will the rest!!?

Along with the uniformed goons, the un-uniformed ones have also been unleashed. Wooden logs instead of lathis, plainclothes men swinging alongside police and blood-soaked protesters being carried out. When men without uniforms attack under police protection, that is not a law and order operation. That is a sanctioned assault. POLICE ARE HABITUALLY GOOD AT IT. An FIR against the injured and a medal for the injurer is how this script usually ends.
