The family of the late Samuel Aboagye, one of the eight victims of the devastating Ghana Air Force Z-9 helicopter crash on August 6, 2025, has reportedly taken legal action against his widow, Abigail Salami (née Aboagye), at the Obuasi District Court. The lawsuit stems from her alleged refusal to allow DNA testing on their daughter for police identification purposes. Reports indicate that she has filed a counter-motion seeking an injunction to permanently prevent any DNA test on the child and has since relocated the child to the United States. Further reports reveal that Samuel Aboagye had allegedly expressed doubts about the child’s paternity, believing the child belonged to a Member of Parliament in the Ashanti Region (whose name has been withheld). He had allegedly informed family members of his intention to pursue a DNA test before his unfortunate passing.
