The Hon. Commissioner for Health, @LSMOH, @ProfAkinAbayomi, representing the Executive Governor of the state, H.E. @jidesanwoolu, emphasises the government's commitment to accelerating brain gain by expanding capacity in the healthcare sector. "We are strengthening Lagos State’s healthcare workforce to have a lasting impact not just in the state but across Nigeria."
He highlights the state’s push for aggressive public-private partnerships (PPP) to achieve #UHC and integrate health into the mainstream economy. "'Health is wealth' becomes a reality only when both governments and corporations invest meaningfully in the health sector," he concludes.

In a special address, Khama Rogo, Former Lead of the Health in Africa Initiative at the World Bank, highlighted the persistent fragmentation of Africa’s healthcare system, which continues to slow progress toward universal health goals. He emphasized that the divide between the public and private sectors hampers efficiency, stressing that healthcare should not be seen as multiple sectors but as one unified system.
To drive meaningful change, he underscored the need to move beyond conventional partnerships and embrace dynamic collaborations fueled by technology and innovation. Only by doing so can we truly transform healthcare delivery and create lasting impact.
