london-based cinephiles, istg fopp in central is probably the closest you will get to visiting the criterion closet because they have an insane criterion collection, lots of blu-rays and 4K HD ones and the prices are INSANE

@bazayer @aaminahinfilm A good lot of the criterion US releases have been released over here via other labels like arrow, eureka, and bfi. Alot of them are better quality releases too.

@aaminahinfilm The problem is it's so limited because it's UK releases only. So much of the collection isn't released officially in the UK.

@TheVideoNasties It wouldnt get put on there in the first place, as it wouldnt right now. you cant put a film that isnt classified in the uk in the cinema, out on physical or streaming.

How will this work exactly? Lets say for example the uncut (unclassifiable) version of Cannibal Holocaust is on Disney+. Would they have to remove it and replace it with the certified cut version? The UK has no right policing movies that other countries have passed uncut.
