@switchlec @Shes_ElectricUK Come on. It’s MK, not Chint. Let’s not overegg it! Even a 17th Ed Amd3 board lasts longer than 3 years!! The symptom is that the RCD trips. The fault is unknown, but likely to be wiring, accessories, or other. Personally, my approach would be to fix the fault, not the symptom :)

I totally get that however are you an Electrician with 10 years experience? I would never have I stalled an MK CU. I’m picking up from where someone else left off. I NEVER sold the car!!

@Shes_ElectricUK My personal thought is my first response would not be to recommend changing a 3 year old CU. If my 3 year old car developed a fault I wouldn’t want the first response from the garage to be to replace the car, instead of fault finding.

@Shes_ElectricUK @bryanmkeane Just don’t understand why your solution is to change the Consumer unit before finding the fault? If you find an appliance/wiring issue, then job done?

@Sparky_Ninja To be honest, it seems that 90% of training centres ENSURE you get a high percentage on the exam anyway. It’s all about passes and income. Most people will always take the easy option. The guaranteed pass.
