Never a dull moment when John Belushi was in the house!
On this day in 1980, the Grateful Dead were joined on stage at the Capitol Theatre in Passaic, NJ, by comedy legend John Belushi ahead of the Dead’s April SNL appearance. Unexpectedly crashing the set, John cartwheeled on stage, pockets stuffed with American flags, and was met by a thunderous roar of applause.

@DarrellCBassist the tone for slide isnt that great imo, I mean Derek is killin it as usual but his own guitar sounds better. Maybe its just not his rig or something?
Ive heard that guitar in action going back decades now, back in the 80's with a head full of acid.
Paul should just have one big private celebrity concert… feels a bit harsh to have people to scramble for the slight chance to see him in such an intimate setting, only for half of the venue to be taken by celebrities who could easily see him front row on any tour on a whim.🤷♂️

SOUR MILK SEA (1968)
George’s demo.
Simple. Unpolished.
But the circle around it —
George.
Paul.
Ringo.
Clapton on lead.
Nicky Hopkins on piano.
More than a demo —
a quiet all-star session.

Well, my 11yo’s “George shrine” has a new addition….. which greeted me when I opened his closet 😬
I am impressed though: my William & his big sister planned out & put together this 3-4ft cardboard George on their own.
Thoughts? ✌️
