@Micks2B I think most of us are happy to lose a player who doesn't want to be here and has spent the last 6-8 months blagging us all then demanding ridiculous wages for his meagre ability. Leoni showed more in 80 minutes than his entire career here. Ibou is a very experienced liability.

Mentioned this 3 days ago. The reason Konate hasnt signed is because hes had approaches that have turned his head. Tbh he delayed long enough to see if it happened so was always 1 foot out the door. Edwards & Hughes far too happy to lose experience (Alisson could be next).
LFC Micks 🔴@Micks2B

@lfcAmirV2 Still some way to go in negotiations. Hes had offers recently that have swung it a bit.

@BenBocsak Seen more there from a 17yr old kid - well timed aggression, positioning, distribution from back to front - than I have from our entire midfield this season. Knocking long balls like Alonso/Stevie G.Scary prospect - and 6' 4" too.

🇧🇪 Nathan De Cat is one of the best young midfielders around in Europe right now. His best role will be as a CDM. Great anticipation and his deep-lying playmaking ability is top tier. Excellent range and ability to find line-breaking passes.

@SeanDOlfc Lots of European mainstream papers write like this - perhaps not to this degree - when covering football. I like the poeticism, adds to the emotion of the beautiful game. As for Schlotterbeck - we could do a lot worse and 45m aint bad for a 6' 3" tough tackling CB in his prime.

I genuinely laugh out loud at these posts. The sentences are getting even longer 😭

Nico Schlotterbeck has informed Florian Wirtz in recent hours during Germany national team duty that he is dreaming of joining one of the last truly sacred names in football, an institution where the line between football and mythology begins to blur, Liverpool Football Club, and has already gone as far as instructing his agent, Björn Etzel, to begin positioning him for a potential move after the World Cup. This comes despite the defender having signed a new Borussia Dortmund contract only a few months ago and, as exclusively revealed by me as the first journalist, that renewal included a €52.5 million (£45 million) release clause restricted to only a very small circle of clubs, with Liverpool, the great crimson kingdom of Merseyside, where Anfield glows beneath the northern sky, where the immortal roar of the Kop has carried generations of dreams across Europe’s grandest nights, and where history is not remembered but lived, breathed and passed from one generation to the next, included among that exclusive group, with the clause, as previously revealed by me, already active and capable of being triggered during the current transfer window. However, no formal move has yet been initiated by Liverpool’s senior sporting leadership, meaning the situation remains dependent on how the club chooses to reshape its defensive department following the imminent departure of Ibrahima Konaté, although what I can reveal is that Nico Schlotterbeck would leave Dortmund without a second thought for the opportunity to wear Liverpool colours, because the prospect of walking beneath the Anfield floodlights to the original sound of You’ll Never Walk Alone, the anthem Liverpool transformed into a global symbol decades before Borussia Dortmund imported it in an attempt to manufacture the same aura, of becoming part of a football institution that transcends the boundaries of sport and stands among the most revered and romanticised names the game has ever produced, is viewed by the German international not merely as an attractive transfer, but as the fulfilment of a career-defining dream.

@indykaila Allegedly wanting 350k a wk - either completely lost it or doing what contractors do when they really don't want a job. The biggest worry is that he'll want Virg to leave with him as he is completely lost when he's not there. Absolute liability - move on. Et merci beaucoup.

Liverpool source 🕵️‍♂️⬇️ “We are comfortable with Ibrahima Konaté leaving. The player’s contract requests did not match his performance levels. We will invest in another centre-back with 2 or 3 attacking players along with an elite midfielder.”

@Max8LFC Quite possible that the players and their agents might have had some input in order to secure the big fat signing fee for their clients. Pretty sure the owners would've wanted a fee after giving Mo 400k a wk at 33. Ibou's just done a TAA. No loss.

At some point a serious discussion needs to be had on why we keep allowing players to run their contracts down completely. It’s ridiculously bad

@JamesWathland Sakho on steroids. Did something really good then something really stupid… always last ditch which looked good but shouldn’t have been happening in the first place. Said it from day one, not good enough for Liverpool and now it’s just another position to improve on in the summer

Real shame if Ibou ends up leaving Liverpool. Honestly shocked by it. Everyone around him thought he was staying. Replacing a centre-back of his level would cost a fortune, never mind the presence he has in the dressing room. Devastated. 🇫🇷😔 #LFC

@JamesWathland Allegedly asking for 350k a wk - wanted RM at turn of year - kept saying a deal was close as recently as April (he was the only one saying it). Done a Macca/Owen/Trent and ran his deal down for the signing fee. Complete liability on the pitch. Au revoir et merci.

Pissing Mo Salah off six months into a new, improved two year deal wasn't very smart. Neither was failing to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold. For a smart club, we're making a lot of dumb decisions. open.substack.com/pub/anfieldwat…

@Compoundinator @SamMcGuire90 Possible he didn't want it known to avoid the TAA treatment. Wanted to go to Madrid last year. Ran his deal down for a big signing fee probably knowing he was never getting the 350k wk it is alleged he was asking for. No loss.

The Liverpool board have made contact with Andoni Iraola's representatives in the past 48 hours in a bid to appoint the spaniard as Head Coach. Iraola is highly sought after by clubs in Italy, Germany & England, but it is believed that Liverpool is Iraola's preferred choice.
