So the town of New Ipswich NH is trying to make an end run around the state law we passed allowing for open enrollment between districts. They're trying to pass a ballot initiative that would demand all students have to remain within the district, but they will welcome students from other districts. "If people think we suck we don't want to lose their tuition and allow them a better choice, but we'll gladly take tuition from other districts for their students who want choice. "

Its a really ill considered bill that everyone hates and it's DOA. I suspect the sponsors were "making a statement" about bike lanes or something, but the optics are terrible.

@travis4nh Can you enlighten us as to what is the situation with NH HB1703? Requiring annual DMV registration of bicycles for adults and children seems to be frivolous. I read the purpose is to create a fund to be used for the building of bike lanes and paths. Any insight?
