It’s the same station I leave from today and it’s a bit dilapidated to be honest. But there is a memorial to the many who passed it’s ticket office and then danced the night away in Norwich, the area I call home END
It was home to the 453rd Bombardment Group. Known as station 144 the 453rd arrived here in December 1943 and was assigned to 2nd combat bombardment wing. It was also the station where James ‘Jimmy’ Stewart was group operations officer. Walter Mathau also flew from here 2/
