From my understanding: the current state of play on the managerial market - as of the moment i'm writing this: Unai Emery: Emery is expected to stay at Aston Villa. United and a few other clubs had interest. He's playing a big part in transfer discussions for the summer for Villa. Andoni Iraola: Chelsea have him as their second option behind Alonso with Palace trying everything they can to acquire him - some big fees thrown around I hear. @NathSalt1 has reported today that he's been ruled out the United job. Julian Nagelsmann: He was one of the names which was loved internally at #MUFC. If the world cup wasn't on this year, I honestly believe we could be having a different conversation at the moment. But the world cup put a major stamp on any progression. Luis Enrique: He's closing in on a new contract as PSG as reported a few weeks back. Marco Silva: Fulham are trying everything to get him to sign a new deal I'm told. His entourage has been reaching out to other clubs. He has big personal ambitions. Also on #CFC's list. Enzo Maresca: If / when Pep leaves, Maresca will take charge of Man City. It is all but done on the Maresca side, as they await Pep’s decision - as reported by @HandofArsenal. Xabi Alonso: Alonso has held positive talks with Chelsea officials over the managerial role for next season. He is keen to return to managing. He is Chelsea's number 1 target as reported by @MaxFSport Oliver Glasner: He has attracted interest from Germany. His personal preference was to initially manage in the premier league and while this is still possible, interest from English clubs have cooled. At least two German clubs hold an interest in him. My report from yesterday regarding Michael Carrick remains the same with the expectation to be offered the #MUFC permanent head coach role barring any last minute decisions. The club insist no final decision has been made yet as they go through a 'thorough process'.

Lads, can you just stop trying to find issues? We've qualified for Europe.
We should get 4/5 quality signings in and have a full pre-season with a new midfield. The way we play now will not be the same as with a new central midfield.
Signings will be made for whatever manager is there in a number of years, not for a specific system, so stop worrying, the players aren't Carrick's, they're players for the INEOS game plan.
If it doesn't work, it doesn't work, but wishing it to not work to be proven right isn't going to make you feel any better.

@PaddyKeoghAF I think people are well within their right to be happy with what he has done as interim but be unconvinced about him as permanent manager. He may have got the results so far but you can count on one hand the amount of actually good performances, which is alarming

Had we not drawn with Wolves I'd have been more incredulous with the Amorim sacking. I think he cared and really did try, but it just wasn't clicking and it didn't look like it'd work without sacrificing a lot.
A nice man, who should feel hard done by given his ideals weren't met with the promises he was given. But in business when you promise something and don't show it, or even glimpses of it, then you can't blindly keep on following.
I think there were very few ardent supporters left in Amorim at the end of it. But it's clear to me now that Wilcox's game plan was never a 3-4-3, which makes the links to Glasner peculiar.

@AA0luwatosin Emery is a phenomenal tactician, but he won’t be considered. His record under the microscope of immense pressure is a huge red flag. Arsenal and PSG scrutiny seems to be something he struggled with and United is on another planet in that regard.

My choice for the managers job.
Names like Nagelsmann, Hoeness I personally don’t know enough about. I worry about how Tuchel works under the United pressure. RDZ/Maresca ain’t United gaffers. Glasner/Iraola rely on lower possession too much.
