@cwhite1864 @GBHockeyFuture It's a shame as Hull have been in the EIHL before & struggled for various reasons. You need a proper arena with over 3500 seats & every game needs to be a sell out. Its obvious that Hull City Council are not that interested or they would have built a better facility by now.

@Phil_Mitchell70 @GBHockeyFuture Yeah, i started watching hockey with the Hull Stingrays. Prime example. Huge sports city. Seahawks now sell out on a regular basis. But no way they can compete at EIHL level from a 1700 capacity rink. Think we need more arena sides to make EIHL viable before it happens though

It truly is getting out of hand in the EIHL £29 to watch a club that hasn't played above .500 hockey in a decade. If you have to gouge fans just to survive at the bottom, you might be out of your depth? It feels like we've seen this story before.

@cwhite1864 @GBHockeyFuture In principle it's not a bad idea as unless you're an arena team survival in the top tier is hard work as you don't have the budgets/resources or ability to sign top level players..sad but true.

@MsCranberyjuice Its hard for you. Unfortunately I had to put my dad in a nursing home, he became very nasty & unmanageable for both mum, plus me & my brother. He couldn't look after himself, mum couldn't cope & neither my brother or I could be there 24/7 which is what it needed. Stay strong

I have been a caregiver for my dementia mom for over 3 years now, whenever she get very aggressive it makes me cry, cause a lot people abandoned their parent in a nursing home and never look back 💔😭

@jonkay01 confessional time. I don't regularly watch @C4Countdown but did on catch-up on Monday and was hooked with @RachelRileyRR @susie_dent @ColinMurray. As a first timer in dictionary corner you were so good with everything you did and definitely need to go back.

John Ebo, the £85,000 HR boss of Leeds city council, has emailed employees offering counselling in a “safe space” to deal with any stress employees suffer due Nigel Farage visiting the city next week. Ebo said in his mail; “No doubt you will have picked up in the news that Nigel Farage and Reform are holding an event/rally. “ I am mindful such events on colleagues and would ask that we enable safe conversations for colleagues such as Wellbeing network chats.” In turn the email was forwarded to the council’s Race Equality Staff Network who then added; “Be vigilant if you are in the city that day.” Perhaps Mr Ebo should detail to his council taxpayers what he does all day for his money as it’s clear from that email there’s not much going on either between his ears or in his department. The man’s a bloody fool.

@HenryStaelens I've seen that they want to build a big new arena in Cardiff. I wonder if this will have the flexibility for Ice Hockey and other things

@Phil_Mitchell70 This is the same in a number of locations at the mo. Entertainment venues being developed but no initial plans for ice plant - but conversations are happening with these venues about ice/teams (not Gateshead specifically).

Just spoke to the BBC about the demand for ice rinks in the UK - piece out next week. The mainstream media's intrigue in the sport is getting less absurd each time they look at the sport - from the ridiculous FT article about why women follow ice hockey, then to the potential 'spike in interest' from Heated Rivalry, now finally true journalism about something that matters. Waiting lists at nearly all clubs. Many hours of travel just to train. 2million tickets sold annually to league/cup fixtures. Biggest indoor sport in the country (by a long way). The sport has grown quietly, well-past the current infrastructure available. This is not just a supply and demand issue that will 'go away'.

@BBCBreakfast @RogerJ_01 @SarahCam3 I've seen the article on sepsis. I had a scare last Sept.I thought I'd got flu. Then right leg swelled up & discoloured. Saw GP in 24 hrs. Oral antibiotics - 3 days then 2 weeks on an antibiotic drip every day. Luckily I'd only got cellulitis
