Round 3 of #ProjectHailMary at #IMAX with Laser XT, Koramangala, Bengaluru! Finally watched it in the format this movie was truly made for. Now I completely get why everyone raves about the IMAX experience (even if it’s not 1.43:1 👀). That expanded aspect ratio and taller FOV make a huge difference - the scale feels absolutely gargantuan. For a space film like this, IMAX just elevates everything. Compared to ScreenX and Dolby Cinema, this is where the immersion really peaks (In the way director intended) The laser projection delivered sharp visuals with solid contrast, and the IMAX 12-channel audio packed a strong punch; though I’d still give Dolby Atmos (at Dolby Cinema) a slight edge in overall sound precision and bass depth. It also hit me with nostalgia - thinking about all the space movies I’ve experienced in IMAX over the years. Yet another spectacular one added to that list. Kelly Reichardt made Wendy and Lucy for $300,000. A small town. A woman and her dog. Michelle Williams worked for scale. A sign she really liked the script. Critics called it one of the best films of the decade. She built a career on intimate stories, micro-budgets, and zero compromise. She proved that if you have a great story and the willingness to execute, top-tier talent will follow. There's always more than one path.

Part of the Project Hail Mary soundtrack started with… a squeaky tap. Daniel Pemberton heard it at a friend’s house, loved the pure tone, recorded it, and turned it into an instrument used in the score.
