“What are they fearing?” asks @FranceskAlbs after being asked if she knew why 🇨🇦 government officials cancelled their meetings with her. Canadian cowards, compradors & careerists. ✅

How is it that parts exist for new units but not for service? Appliance industry needs oversight. Mandatory service parts supply for life of appliance 6 years MINIMUM. @BBB_BC @Frigidaire

We need consumer protections in Canada to protect folks from @FrigidaireCA shoddy practices. Client has a new (over 1 year) Frigidaire walloven FGEW276SPFB, model still available in stores and the keypad 139038872 $495 is apparently obsolete, making it unrepairable.

Occasionally i get to dress up for work and today I feel like I’m either going to a church bake sale or I’m an extra in the back of an Aphex Twin video.

@theADWilliams @bcndp We will see if running right will help them. Personally, I don't think the conservative vote will materialize but I may eat my words. Hoping for greendp.

This is my exact thought on why the @bcndp are facing a loss this election. Instead of staying true to their progressive/young base, they continue to creep right trying to appease the conservative voter who will never vote for them anyway. Big mistake. Greendp coalition 🤞.
Torrance Coste@TorranceCoste

It’s almost as if shifting hard to the centre and alienating huge parts of your base and young people disaffected with politics and hungry for bold left populist solutions is a bad idea, or something. #bcpoli

Wouldn't you rather have this person as premier? I'm serious, between Eby's collapsible spine, and Rustad's lunacy, wouldn't you rather have the adult in the room with a plan to actually improve our lives? Seems like there's an obvious answer to me.
Mo Amir 🪬@vancolour

“I want all the nice things.” I ran into the head of a business association who attended the @BoardofTrade event today featuring the three #bcpoli leaders. He wouldn’t stop talking about @SoniaFurstenau’s speech and urged me to watch it. So I did. Here’s a clip.

Trudeau must be forced to explain why murdering civilians, some 60 in th epast 24 hours, is something that Israel has the right to do, while Iran has no right to take out Israeli military bases.
CPAC@CPAC_TV

"Obviously Israel has the right to defend itself against these attacks—At the same time we have to try and do everything we can to avoid a wider war, to protect civilians and to get humanitarian aid into affected regions," says PM Trudeau after G7 call on Middle East. #cdnpoli

@zacdevries ICBC was indeed broken before, but these rate cuts are borne on the backs of people injured in MVA's. It's not right. The system is broken in the opposite direction. Driving a car musn't come with a veto of personal accountability. NDP shld have fixed this before the election.

This is just another example of why the BC Conservatives cannot be trusted on policy and have no credible plan to make life affordable for British Columbians. ❌Average annual insurance premium in privatized Alberta? $3151 ✅Average annual insurance premium in BC with ICBC? $1775 Other public insurer provinces also deliver good results because savings are passed down to residents. Even Alberta knows this, their governments own reports show moving to a public insurer would cut rates by $732 a year. However, like the BC Conservatives they’re more interested in padding the pockets of private insurers.
CityNews Vancouver@CityNewsVAN

BC Conservatives Leader John Rustad calls the ICBC a "bloated monopoly" and a "broken system" and announces a new plan to end the insurance company's monopoly across the province. vancouver.citynews.ca/2024/10/02/rus…

It's humbling how fast things change on the water. Wasn't planning on pulling into Comox but sometimes decisions are made for you. Got caught in this absolute unit of summer thunderstorm off cape Lazo and decided to turn around and find a pub. Good idea I reckon.

I'm circumnavigating Vancouver Island on my sola/pedal powered @HobieCatCompany sailing kayak. 3-6 weeks depending on conditions. I've got a 3D printed motor system and spares of almost all the parts. 170w x2 and 140w carbon panel overhead from lightleaf solar. Here we go!

Saanich muni excels at high level paper based plans ie Active transportation, road safety plan etc but the ground ops never seem to reflect the higher level policy. This road was recently repaved to facilitate motoring with basically zero ped/bike improvements. @TealePB
