If you’re the agent of both Alonso/Iraola, what’s your ideal scenario? Both your clients end up at top clubs. Alonso goes to LFC, Iraola to CFC. Feel like that’s part of the strategic appearance/packaging of everything in the media: — The dramatic noise of Alonso being wanted by and talking to CFC, but very clearly not deciding yet (to try and nudge a reaction from LFC) — Iraola constantly mentioned non-stop within the proximity of the CFC job in every headline I think things have been geared around pushing towards that result for his clients; But the actual likely movement of travel is: — Chelsea want Alonso and we’re the only real option on the table for now. — LFC unclear on Slot stance, but more firmly leaning towards keeping Slot — Iraola will be a clear option if we fail to get Alonso, and it’s almost awkwardly been promised to the agent who manages both That’s my outlook on things, but could be absolutely wrong. Let’s see what happens. Hopefully we secure Alonso.

I'm going to err on the side of caution with Xabi Alonso and not to get excited just yet. First of all, I want to see reports saying Chelsea have changed and will ease up and give some control to the next manager. Plus, Liverpool are still a threat for him, IMO. Football changes quickly, and they could decide to chop Slot, given some of the fan unrest. Also, with his past history with Liverpool, I can imagine he would be open to them too. We need to move fast. #CFC

The idea of Simeone is always better than the reality of Simeone. He’s wildly overrated as a “winner” and as a manager.
