@Dansmith_89 @Capt_Fishpaste I think slowing tackles down is one of the worst implementations of VAR. Football is not played at slow motion and to get the true context of a tackle it should be viewed at the speed it took place. I think slowing it down makes all these types of tackles look worse
English

@Capt_Fishpaste That’s not true. The refereee only sees it once and at full speed. They can react differently when seeing it slowed down and from all angles
English

@sidneyfrond @Brownie89 At the same time how many fans of clubs in leagues without it, are desperate to get the technology for their league. I’m not sure I have met any
English

@Brownie89 People ignore what it gets right, which is a large majority of incidents. People only remember the controversial ones. Clubs had the opportunity to bin it, and they would have done had they though it was getting things wrong.
English

@TheArsenalDan @Brownie89 Every week in the football league referees make decisions and sometimes get it wrong. While football league fans will moan when decisions go against them, there is hardly any call to bring VAR in as a solution.
English

@Brownie89 I don’t “like” it, but I much prefer it to just leaving the refs to make constant incorrect on-field decisions with zero accountability.
It was way worse before VAR, how quickly people forget.
English

@LandL0rd03 @BrynLaw To me the question is what is the impact of getting the “correct” decision for these marginal decisions. I think the game is worse off when goals similar to that are chalked off similar to Coventry semi final goal. We love football because of the emotion, not lines on a screen
English

@BrynLaw He was offside though.
Hard to argue against a correct decision.
English

A lesson in VAR etiquette for the content team. Don’t celebrate anything until the blokes in a room 200 miles away give you the go-ahead. It’s a lesson we’re all learning and it’s killing the game.

@adamsummerton After experiencing a Wrexham game with VAR I’m not sure I want to leave the championship!
English

@Kris_Ives @SonOfChelsea You have had cheating tackles where players take a yellow for years. You get that tackle every week in the leagues below the EPL without players legs being broken or fans complaining. Of course you can say EPL is right and everyone else wrong, I would personally disagree
English

@SonOfChelsea Don’t think he tried to ‘break’ his leg, but it’s a cheating tackle (stop the attacker at all costs) so think the right decision
English

@markgoldbridge You see tackles like this every week on leagues below the EPL, it gets a yellow and there is little complaint. Why do we assume the EPL is right and everyone else wrong
English

@henrywinter Football fans in the championship and leagues below see those challenges get yellows every week with little complaint. One of the worse aspects of VAR is changing the context of tackles by putting them in slow motion.
English

Dobson not complaining and can’t. Speed and height of challenge were dangerous. Garnacho fortunate his leg wasn’t planted. Correct and swift use of VAR #WRECHE
English

@QcWynter It’s not like they are moving the games for Ramadan it’s a tiny alteration to make things easier for Muslim players. In a league where players regularly pretend they are getting injured for a break, this seems a more valid reason to stop a game to me
English

@edward_w97 I think it’s easy to say the international tournaments don’t need expanding when you are from one of the countries who generally qualified under the old system. As a 🏴 supporter the expansion gives us more chance to qualify which I think is good for our game
English

48-team World Cup, 24-team EURO, 36-team European Competitions, now add 6-team Championship Play-Offs.
Same as it always is. We don’t need it, was nothing wrong with what was there before.
If the suits in football want an idea that’ll make more money though, the suits get it…

@TheAdrianDurham As a Wrexham supporter the only thing that doesn’t excite me about being in the 5th round of the FA cup and play offs is those 3 initials!
English

@GabSutton For all the talk about teams voting out of self interest, I would argue the fact that the parachute payments are in place is also an act of self interest.
English

Absolute madness to me that you can finish closer to midtable than the automatic spots, and still go up via a knockout format.
Lots of Championship clubs without parachute payments will vote for this out of self-interest, and TV companies want the jeopardy to create more drama and get more views.
But it feels artificially manufactured, without considering that football got views in the first place based on it being a serious competition built on sporting merit.

@JacobBrown20_ @IpswichTown Where have we let this idea of players not celebrating important goals against old teams become normal. To me a big part of a goal is the emotion that follows, have always found non celebrations wierd. Happy for any ex Wrexham players to celebrate if they score against us
English

@KieranBarrett96 it wasnt a cup game selection. I think PP picked what he thought was the strongest 11. DKD is competing with Windass and Broadhead (proven championship players) and Rathbone (POTS last year) for 2 places. Think he will get plenty of opportunity, just needs to take the chance
English

@Philrobertss I thought he would’ve started with it being a cup came tbh. We’ll see, hope you give him the game time he deserved, he’ll reward it
English

@PencilCraftsman Also seems silly all these Sunday 17:00 kick offs. To me Sunday afternoon is the obvious time to play these games go get the most possible exposure
English

Is this right?
Such an important game in the title race?
Why on earth would you have this on a Saturday? At the same time as the men's games?
The mind boggles.

We can’t wait for this 🙌 Cardiff City Stadium will host @CardiffCityFCW v @WrexhamAFCWomen on Saturday 28 February (KO 15:00) 🏟️
English

@donhutch4 @PFA I think one problem is the rule that means players can only play for 2 teams a season. If it was changed 2 teams after the summer transfer window closes, there would be options for these players to come back and be loaned elsewhere.
