This judgement is a big win for ADC
To be frank, if INEC had not first derecognised David Mark, many us would not even have known about Nafiu’s case. We all know he has no case, but the courts and INEC made a mountain out of a molehill in order to cause chaos in the leading opposion party.
But INEC, whether rightly or wrongly, relied on the court of appeal’s order for parties to maintain status quo ante bellum, in consequence of which INEC derecognised David Mark-led NWC.
The ADC therefore went to the supreme court, seeking the vacation of the order.
In a unanimous judgment, the five-member panel of the supreme court headed by Justice Mohammed Garba faulted the order of the court of appeal which asked parties in the suit to maintain status quo ante bellum, effectively restoring David Mark.
Looking at INEC’s tight election timetable, the ADC deliberately went to the supreme court to get a decision and know its fate before the deadline. Those arguing that ADC politicians should go to another party should know that no opposition party is immune to the ruling party’s meddling, either through the courts or the electoral umpire.
With the party’s leadership now restored, the ADC can officially engage with INEC. At a time like this, leadership is crucial for any political party. Once conventions, congresses and primaries are over, parties often run almost on autopilot.
Returning the case to the trial court (as long as Mark NWC is restored) is a fair deal.

After my experience with both band A and E I realized that the policy is against poor Nigerians, why because in band E we got 26 unit for 1k with 2 to 4hrs light daily, while we now pay 1k for 4 units on band A.
If not meter bypassed, poor people can not afford light in band A 😔
