@blooprintgames Appreciate the response. I’ve been struggling to find a server I like to play on week after week. Day 1, 600 pop tons of fun. Day 2, 300 pop still with action. Day 3 barely breaking 100 running around map bored to tears.

@PhobiaOS Uhhh community is usually on the easier side from my experience. Middle grounds are usually the non clan level medium wipes, main and small servers that wipe weekly, and some Facepunch servers.

@BaseySOL I played several wipes of Deadside. It’s ok, but the cheaters and shrinking player count caused me to move on. As of now, I’m waiting for DayZ Badlands.

@Shadow_frax My biggest issue with current Rust is the 3 day server life. Thursday wipe, pick a server, play Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Server pop is now dead, move on to a Monday server and play Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Rinse and repeat. It feels disposable and lacks investment

@DellaDream_ My medical chart now states I’m “allergic” to cipro because it gave me terrible ligament pain in my knees and hip. I end up with a bad infection, similar to a UTI and was prescribed Cipro, 2 weeks into the cycle the ligament pain became unbearable. To the point I couldn’t walk.

Ciprofloxacin fluoroquinolone is killing people and it’s prescribed widely every day.

@blooprintgames @Alistair_McF I don’t believe in the “Rust is a full time job”. 3k hours mostly playing solo on vanilla 1000 pop. You can 100% play a wipe on a couple hours a night. Log on at 5pm, close out by 7 or 8pm and still do most of what Rust has to offer. My issue with Rust is pop dying so quick.

Honestly Alistair, I think that’s just a demographic you won’t be able to hit. And that’s okay. Rust already pulls healthy numbers. A lot of players play heavily modded servers if they think vanilla is too hard. And a lot of vanilla players think vanilla is too easy 😅 I wouldn’t get hung up on trying to make the base game even easier to cater towards players that dont like its hardcore nature. The game will change too drastically for people who love it for what it is now if you do. Rust can’t be EVERYTHING for EVERYONE, and that’s a good thing. If Rust tries to branch off into too many directions it just won’t be recognizable to those who’ve been here since the beginning and fell in love with it in the first place. As for softcore, hardcore, and primitive modes. You’re right, they aren’t marketed enough. Rust players also just play whatever vanilla is, or stick to their trusty 10x modded servers with kits. One thing I’m sure of is you’ll have a solid active community on Hardcore Mode if you throw old recoil on there. To this day people are still begging for it to come back. And I saw some suggestions in this thread of changing the progression system back to Component Only on Softcore (almost every base BP learned, no workbenches required). That’s just my opinions on this, felt like sharing!

This is an interesting /r/playrust Reddit thread. It's no surprise to anyone, Rust takes commitment to play, that won't change. We did introduce softcore gamemode to aid players wanting a less punishing experience. Do we need to take softcore, more soft? Reduce the punishment of being raided further? We certainly do a bad job at marketing/onboarding this mode to players.

@nikgeneburn A couple questions about PvE. 1) Do PMC AI spawn at the specific PvP spawn locations then move around? 2) Can AI get assigned playstyle roles? Aggressive, camping, looter, etc 3) Do PMC AI attempt to complete quests? I’d like to see PvE as dynamic as PvP
