But I interpret him saying “Let’s start with a little taste” as him initially testing Mahoraga’s strength. Letting Mahoraga strike him first. If Mahoraga couldn’t survive a single dismantle, then it wasn’t worth Sukuna’s time.

Even when Mahoraga was whaling on Dabura the most damage it could do to him was a cut on his face.
