@Joe_brendan_ Bro what you are saying is that if you make opening for a high paying job young men won't apply and only ladies will? That's not true. Nigerians are criminally underpaid, what you people call job opening os something you do that never change your life.

Many Nigerian young men are losing it. This will bite in 10 years Ask anyone who is hiring or who has a business that hires, Nigerian young women are the most cracked these days Put out a Job opening and in 5 hours its 80% women applying and 20% men applying The young men in Nigeria think they can ignore the build process into a GLE, GLK life sustainably. I guess all the "women are the spark" "Feminine Power" seminars from 15 - 20 years ago is beginning to pay off because the focus young women bring to the table these days is exceptional Yes there are still many young men thriving and striving to build but the percentage that's pushing for fast money is alarming. - Young man finishes university. Refuses to start a job because "how long 150k salary go buy GLE" - Young man shuns entry level experience and starts doing betting or fraud or "Forex" - Young girl starts working after university regardless - 10 years later, One has 10 solid years experience and can lead in the industry while the other is still GLEing

My friends, There comes a moment in every life when you must decide what truly matters. Not what is easy, not what is comfortable but what is right. To serve the people is not a part-time commitment. It is not a title, a badge, or a position you wear when it suits you. It is a calling that demands everything you have and everything you are willing to become. Because service means sacrifice It’s time.

"You grew up hearing tales," and that is precisely the problem. Because you have never stopped to ask yourself WHY you heard those specific tales and WHO made sure you heard those tales. You "grew up hearing" that Abacha supposedly stole $4bn, but there is ACTUAL DOCUMENTED EVIDENCE that his immediate military predecessor made at least $12bn of Nigeria's Gulf War oil windfall disappear into private hands - why didn't you "grow up hearing" that? You "grew up hearing" that Abacha was a "corrupt dictator," but why did you NOT "grow up hearing" that the actual dictator who occupied that seat before him singlehandedly minted at least 3 of the USD billionaires that you worship today, including his wife's tailor that was awarded an oil block and is now Africa's richest woman, or another one that was a taxi driver and now owns a telco and an oil company? Who made sure you didn't hear that, but you heard something about Abacha? You "grew up hearing" that Nigerians suffered economically under Abacha, but you can NEVER prove it with numbers because IT IS NOT TRUE! Nigerians did suffer from fuel shortages and other things that led to the infamous Abacha stove, but numbers cannot lie and the numbers show that inflation in Nigeria under Abacha fell to single digits, the USD exchange rate fell and stabilised remarkably, and Nigeria's foreign reserves grew from $200m to over $9bn - without high oil prices. Since the "Abacha hardship" cannot be proven with numbers - which directly contradict the narrative - someone has made sure that you "grew up hearing tales" and anecdotes in lieu of actual facts, figures and data. And funny enough, even in filling your heads with those anecdotes and stories, the period of 1985-1993, which was actually the most damaging period in Nigeria's entire postwar history, is NEVER mentioned. You hear a lot about Abacha killing people extra judicially, but you NEVER hear that extra judicial killing of private citizens first became institutionalised under Ibrahim Babangida - to the point of sending letter bombs to kill journalists. You NEVER hear that the first time in Nigeria's history when Nigerians began emigrating enmasse was during that period, and that the reason why almost every urban Nigerian family is split across multiple countries and continents is Ibrahim Babangida and his ruinous SAP era. You don't hear about how drug trafficking became so institutionalised under Babangida that people like Bola Tinubu started vying for political office in 1992. You don't hear about how Babangida was instrumental in reducing Nigeria's influence in Africa by cutting funding to African liberation movements, while providing funding and support to his fellow CIA assets like Yoweri Museveni to gain power that they have not relinquished since 1985. You instead "grew up hearing" one specific set of stories to reinforce one specific idea in your mind, so that even when you come across hard numbers and facts that contradict the stories, they have become part of your emotional makeup and are impossible to dislodge. This was EXACTLY how the exact same American information warriors came in 2015 - when Nigeria was enjoying its biggest economic breakout since 1974 and was the 3rd fastest growing economy on the planet - and they started filling your head with stories about how "Jonathan is corrupt and incompetent" and you had never had it that bad before, to the point where you voluntarily went to the polls and removed the guy who took you into the MINT bloc, only to replace him with Muhammadu fucking Buhari. Now here you are 11 years later, and you clearly still don't understand the power of storytelling to mess up your mind and destroy your life. Continue cursing Abacha like Washington wants you to. Shebi his murder brought prosperity to Nigeria and you're better off now? Whenever you wake up will be your morning.
Enitoluwafe@1Tolufe

We grew up hearing tales of how bad things were during Abacha’s era. How people were using sawdust to cook like the nation was under a medevial siege. How people danced in the streets when the news of his death came. Now, Hundeyin is whitewashing him on some CIA conspiracy???

All three Dangote daughters are directors in Dangote Group but that's not the point. Studying at Nile University made me understand how much of NEPO privilege has to be earned, or at the very least, must seem so. These kids are sent to the best schools, have the best coaches, are pressured on some level to have decent academic performances, directed to take certain super-curriculars, and earn certain certifications, while most of us on the other end feel that the BSc is enough headache. It was a period of disillusionment for me. And of course, I don't discount the extent to which wealth makes such qualifications accessible. But I also don't discount the work ethic that must be put in to ensure that they earn or seem to earn their places. Why is this necessary? Well, when your parent’s organization is big enough, there are investors and directors whose votes of confidence matter. There are shareholders too. So, in addition to being the owner’s seed, you must come off as qualified. Else, you ruin all your parent has built. That’s why I saw this picture and smiled when I did my background check. Three of Dangote’s daughters, Fatima, Halima, and Mariya, are directly involved in the running of the Dangote Group: one as Executive Director, Communications; another as Executive Director, Operations; and the other, formerly in charge of the Group’s Strategy, is now part of the Board. And when you check their profiles, you can see the fit: MBA at Coventry University, University of Surrey, MBA at Webster Graduate School, and touches of Harvard Business School, etc. They do prepare for their opportunities. And if there is a message for us, for the signal and substance it represents, it is this: don’t joke with your education. That’s a luxury even the wealthy cannot afford.

As per the Nigerian Financial Services Market Report of 2024; 97.6% of Nigerians earn less than 200,000 Naira per month. Just think about it: 97.6% Nigerians do not make £100 after 30 days of work in a month. 200,000 naira a month is less than 2.5million naira a year. How do people pay rent, pay school fees, buy food, maintain a car, or even have savings for emergency healthcare? How do people live? We are a desperately poor country with sadly too many poor people.

So I went to this same AP filling station Maitama, this afternoon to buy fuel. One of the attendants recognized me and rushed over, asking for my number and said she wanted to send me 5k airtime. She said the tweet I made about their N10k monthly salary really helped them. Their salary was increased to N71k that same month and has remained stable since then. Her smile melted my heart. I thanked her for the kind gesture and gave her more money than the 5k airtime she wanted to give me. She didn’t want to accept it, but I insisted. I’m so happy to be able to make others happy. 💃💃💃 Things we do for love ❤️❤️
Jerry Durojaiye@kokomatic

This morning, I stopped by AP Filling Station in Maitama, opposite Transcorp, to fuel my car. To my surprise, I noticed the fuel attendants murmuring, so I decided to engage one of them since there weren’t many cars around. I asked what was going on, and the lady told me they had just protested to the management for a salary increase, but their request was rejected. I gently asked how much they earn monthly, and to my shock, she said they’re paid ₦10,000 per month. I asked if she meant ₦100,000, but she insisted it was ₦10,000. She even called one of her colleagues, and when I asked her, she confirmed it. Where is the Nigerian Labour Congress when you need them? This is exactly the kind of issue people likes of @sowore, @adeyanjudeji etc should be fighting for, instead of focusing solely on the presidency. Nigerians aren’t even fair to each other. How do they expect these workers to transport themselves, feed their families, and not be tempted to steal from customers? A big station like Androva Petroleum shouldn’t be paying staff such a disgracefully low salary. I hope they act fast. I feel genuinely sad for them and pray they get justice as soon as possible.

So my question is… If it is not DEMAND that is driving the prices, why is a flight from Enugu to Lagos N250,000 across all airlines? If they explain Nigeria to you and you understand it, no be 9ja dem explain.

In reality, the physical body of Jesus was removed from the tomb by GNOMES and GIANTS, both nature beings of the Animistic species, under the instruction of the Almighty. It didn’t ascend into “heaven” as told in the Bible for drought of logical explanations. It is not possible for a material or physical matter to ascend into ethereal or spiritual realms. Imagine if human beings had access to the physical body of Jesus which they knew quite well could work miracles. Imagine what they would have used it for, how many pieces it would have been cut into and handed down to generations of the elite at that time. In the Wisdom of the Almighty, that was not allowed to happen. The body was moved away from the tomb, away from access to any human species and hidden away in a place that l, even of the entire earth were combed, no human species would find even today. But as we speak, it is ACTUALLY still on earth. Preserved. Still as fresh as it was on that very day he was crucified. Guarded by elemental Servants of the Almighty in a place no human can get to, but still on earth. Preserved till a time when this earth that man has made into a caricature of what was initially intended, will destroy itself and everything man in his intellectual arrogance has built up and a NEW earth is built, under a new and knowledgeable HUMANITY, totally different from how we know it now (some people from this existence will experience it. Very few). Then, ONLY THEN, will His body be brought to the fore and given a PROPER burial BEFITTING of an Envoy of the Almighty. Not everyone will be permitted to experience this. It is going to be an experience like no other. This is EXACTLY what will happen and only a few humans across the world are aware of this. A few more will be aware but for the rest who will think this is fable, even your reactions are all part of the natural course of events. The Wisdom of the Lord rules the world.

This is something we need to address in our society. If somebody cannot pay his rent or feed, it says a lot about the people in his life. We need to stop acting like life is individual and we don’t need people. The problem is that we have validated dropping people when life happens to them and ignoring the reality of vulnerable people in our circle. If you hear somewhere that Yomyom cannot afford to pay his rent, it says a lot about me as a friend. No story! Why would you have friends or family that can cover it and it is not covered. If my friend dies, I have a responsibility to see that his family does not suffer and his kids go to good schools. If my friend is hungry, I have a responsibility to ensure he feeds and finds his feet. Relationship comes with responsibility. You have a duty to your family, your partner, your friends. That is what makes life worth living.

It's not rocket science. Ban generators and solar inverters for all politically exposed persons, and you will have power 24/7. Stop foreign education for children of politically exposed persons, and your ASUU-run universities will be better than Harvard. Stop medical tourism, and your teaching hospitals will cure cancer. #Died on the 7th January, 2022 but lives on till date by the power of rescue and preservation of the almighty God!! 7th January, 2022 remains a day that God showed His richness in faithfulness and mercy for me. The devil and his wicked agents had set a bounty of N5m on themselves, definitely, not me. Their mission was to simply murder themselves, not me. How do I appreciate this God? I called on this God, reminding Him that as a minister in the Dunamis commission, I have seen, heard and harvested testimonies. I challenged God that if those testimonies were fakes and make-believes, well, let me die in that forest where my kidnappers had left me and one of my workers in the pools of our own blood. My worker was shot in the head while I was shot in the abdomen with my intestines exposed with over eight perforations. I promised God that if I survived, I would let the world know of His preserving power through testimony at the Dunamis commission. This, God granted. Friends, this story is very very long but I thank God for His mercies and grace🙏🙏🙏! Today, I look forward in appreciation to God for the rare privilege of being alive and being well. I thank God for His factor in my life!!!
