@fergusondavid6 Hi David, I was just wondering if @PiBakery support for the Raspberry Pi 4 is planned. If so: When are you expecting a release and is there anything to help with the release?

@Cleo_Qc @PiBakery I'm SURE it's still going... Perhaps Davids just trying to catch up with Buster?

@lazyassreefer I actually did try this at one point, but it was only me seeding it and I got questions about how to use torrent files, so I ended up just using http. Of course, once V2 is out of beta it solves this as it doesn't bundle Raspbian with the app.

@joerichstudios Not yet, as there are a few bugs to iron out before a proper release. That's what I'll be doing very soon though.

@PiBakery is version 2.0 available as an executable image or must I compile it myself?

@joerichstudios I've not tested it on a Pi, and while it is technically possible to do so on a Pi2 and higher, this would be a bad idea as it would run very slowly. If you do want to do this, you would need to follow the instructions for Building From Source and Linux at #pibakery-on-linux" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">github.com/davidferguson/…

@PiBakery Honesty is the best policy. Thank you for your clarity. It is still a wonderful product. Pls excuse my newbie question. Can I rub pibakety in a Raspberry pi to create more SD cards?

@PiBakery where can I download a pibakery for Mac OSX 10.8.5 that will work and I can trust?

@CharlesYarnold What version (v1 or V2) of PiBakery are you using? And what version of macOS are you using?

Anyone else having issues with @PiBakery on mac? Hitting write does nothing :/

Been on my list for a while but decided to give @PiBakery a try and refresh my SD cards with the latest Raspbian. Preset WiFi, password and hostname.

@haakon_bakker V2 doesn't, v1 does. I'll clarify this in the docs.

@PiBakery Is it still true that PiBakery enables SSH by default? (If yes, maybe you can write that in the README file?)

@haakon_bakker The v2.0.0 has a bug on Windows at the moment - see issue github.com/davidferguson/… for more into. The Mac version doesn't have this issue, and I'll try and upload v2.0.1 with the Windows fix soon.

@PiBakery tried to get V2.0 (from pre-release) to work on Windows 10 today. There it will crash on startup. I also have to opportunity to try on a Mac - is the pre-release more usable when creating an image from Mac than Windows?

@kholbee1 @Raspberry_Pi Can you tell me what settings you had to change?

@PiBakery @Raspberry_Pi We got it sorted out. It was a problem on the laptop. Something to do with the settings. I googled it and adjusted the settings. But you might want to look into it as a possible reason why your program might not work on some computers.

If you haven't tried it yet, definitely give @PiBakery a try next time you're setting up a #RaspberryPi. I just used it to configure WiFi on a headless Pi Zero (+ added an ssh text file to the boot partition) to get WiFi #SSH access without any screens or keyboards connected 👍

The upgrade is now finished, and everything is back to normal now.

There'll be a (hopefully!) small amount of downtime as I upgrade our servers today, expect the website to go down and any emails to bounce whilst this is in progress.

@curiousiguana Unfortunately not, as you need admin rights to be able to write an SD card. All I can suggest is using another computer.

@nwsayer It'll be cmd-shift-i on a Mac. Are there any errors in there?

With this error dialog, ctrl+shift+I does nothing.

Trying to use @pibakery on my mac. Have used with great success for thousands of years, but now lately getting this when attempting to write.

@all_about_code @fergusondavid6 @biglesp @jason_tapper @edu_blocks @tinaornduff So I would assume that Chromium App Mode wouldn't allow you to execute a shell script, in which case some sort of shell server would be needed.

@fergusondavid6 @biglesp @jason_tapper @edu_blocks @tinaornduff @PiBakery Hmm, interesting. EduBlocks used to use electron but it was too slow to run on a Pi zero. EduBlocks now uses chromium app mode which works the same but is much lighter and faster

Happy to announce that in September, I shall be doing a talk on the development of @edu_blocks at Google HQ in California. I can't wait to present to Makecode and Scratch development teams as well as the blockly team about EduBlocks. Thanks for making this happen @tinaornduff.

Love this little piece of software magic! I Just set up a dozen SD cards for my students in no time right from my Mac. If you're not using this as an educator, you ought to be. Thanks @ascollins and #picademy community for the heads up.
