Nobody addressing the elephant in the room. If a cold wallet company is capable of this kind of error, how can you trust them? GTFO and don’t look back would be my reaction. You take this risk with any closed source solution. If only there were an open source air gap solution on open hardware. 🤔🤔🤔

Key slice generates seed phrases from dice rolls, and then further slices those seed phrase into physically separate downloads or printouts. But you can just use it for the dice generator too.

If you are still uncomfortable with random number generators, you can always generate from dice rolls 100%. Keyslice.org

9/ Air-gapped display is necessary. Real entropy at seed creation is non-negotiable.

8/ Photo and dice never replace the OS CSPRNG. They only augment it. Even a boring photo or predictable rolls still sit on top of full OS entropy — so you don’t get “looked like 128 bits, wasn’t.”

1/ ColdCard just got a harsh reminder: offline ≠ strong seed. A firmware bug made seed generation entropy collapse to ~40 bits (older Mk) / ~72 (newer) — not the 128 a 12-word BIP39 phrase implies.
