Day 35/35
Stephen Poe – “Fallen Angels”
Wrapping up the 35 days with this one. I know plenty of other accounts have shouted him out this year, but Stephen Poe is still criminally underappreciated.
Some might call him the love child of Sturgill Simpson and Randy Travis. I see his trajectory heading straight to the moon.
Please listen to this song and the whole album. It’s the perfect closer.

Day 34/35
Tony Kamel – “All Around This World”
This song is from probably my favorite bluegrass album of the year “We’re All Gonna Live”. It is packed with songs that will move you.
Tony’s an insanely talented musician and storyteller, and this track is one of the standouts for me.
If you haven’t heard the whole record yet, please listen. It’s special.

This song rules - and yes I'm biassed because Maggie and Ryan were kind enough to let me write it with them - but even if that weren't the case, I'd still think it rules. Ps... Magnolia Boulevard also rules.

Kentucky. This is a single off their debut album that just dropped at the end of November. Maggie’s voice is brilliant. I really dig their Appalachian soul sound. Give it a spin!
