Seniors and individuals with disabilities are invited to attend a free Property Tax Exemption Seminar hosted by the Pierce County Assessor-Treasurer’s Office in partnership with the South Sound Housing Affordability Partners and Pierce County Human Services (PCHS). This informative session will provide guidance on eligibility and how life changes such as retirement or loss of a spouse may impact tax relief. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn how to apply for property tax exemptions. The @NWSSeattle has now issued a Wind Warning for Pierce County. The warning is in effect starting today, Monday, Feb. 24 through 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25. Expect winds of 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 55 to 65 mph. For elevations greater than 4,000 feet, there is a Winter Storm Warning in effect now through 4 p.m. Tuesday. Total snow accumulations between 12 and 24 inches. Please make sure to secure loose items that are outside and be careful if you need to travel.
