Tesla is rolling out update 2026.3.7 to FSD users in the Netherlands.
FSD (Supervised) is getting closer to real-world driving on Dutch roads.
What it can do:
• Start from a parked position
• Change lanes on its own
• Take exits based on navigation
• Handle traffic and obstacles
• Stop at your destination
Important:
• You are still responsible
• Hands on the wheel
• Eyes on the road
This is happening now.
The Netherlands is part of the FSD rollout.

Elon Musk shared additional details:
✅ A single AI5 has ~5× the useful compute of a dual-SoC AI4
✅ TSMC and Samsung will produce the chip (mass production expected in 2027)
✅ AI5 will become one of the most produced AI chips ever
✅ AI5 will be used for Optimus and supercomputer clusters
✅ AI5 will not be integrated into cars, as AI4 is sufficient to achieve safety well beyond human levels for FSD
*Tape-out is the stage where a chip’s design is finalized and sent to the factory for manufacturing. It marks the point when the design is complete and ready to be fabricated on silicon, and changes after this step are difficult and costly.

People are upset, and that’s understandable. But it’s important to look at the full picture.
Tesla did not randomly interfere with vehicles. This specifically targets cars where CAN-based hacks were used to enable FSD or bypass safety systems, such as hands-on detection or regional restrictions.
For a long time, Tesla has been monitoring vehicle logs for abnormal behavior. What happened now is clear: server-side authorization keys were revoked, vehicles were remotely woken up, configurations were checked, and FSD was removed instantly, without a visible update.
There is a reason for this. FSD is not a feature like an app, it controls a 2000 kg vehicle. If a hacked car causes a serious accident, Tesla will be held responsible, regulators will step in, and it could impact access for everyone.
At the same time, Tesla relies on fleet data to train its AI. Vehicles running unauthorized hardware introduce corrupted data and can disrupt the learning process. The system needs to remain clean and reliable.
This also shows Tesla’s strength. They can detect, respond, and enforce remotely without requiring recalls or service visits.
Many users have now received notifications. This is not random action, this is targeted enforcement on vehicles operating outside the rules.

Got this email from Tesla: my car detected an “unauthorized third-party device” and disabled paid driver assistance features (FSD, €7,500).
What happened: an ESP32 module on the CAN bus sends a frame changing the FSD version flag. This frame has no checksum, no counter, no authentication. The system accepts it as-is.
Two issues:
1) GDPR — Data sharing to Tesla is disabled on my car. Yet they still detected the device and remotely killed the feature. Collecting CAN telemetry despite opt-out? Conditioning a paid feature on accepting surveillance?
2) UN R155 — Annex 5 requires protection of internal frames against spoofing. A safety-critical frame circulates with zero authentication. Instead of deploying an OTA to secure it (SecOC/CMAC), Tesla just disables the feature.
That’s like Microsoft finding your PC is used as a bot and disabling your computer instead of patching the vulnerability. 😂
