20/ ...fish, such as juvenile salmon which grow faster on the productive floodplains (on right) compared to those that rear in the river (on left). This illustrates the importance of healthy, connected river-floodplain systems for fisheries productivity.

Real security means facing the climate crisis head-on by forging a clean energy future here at home and weakening the grip of fossil-fueled despots and their regimes overseas.

Tonight, the Senate voted to pad the Pentagon with a near trillion-dollar spending package to the tune of $886 billion. Ridiculous.

This is a great idea for a publication - often the terms "stream" and "river" get used interchangeably, with an implicit assumption that the latter is larger than the former. Knowing where exactly the distinction lies would be very useful #streamecology onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/rr…

some women will draw up a whole checklist for their future partner down to height, weight and salary requirements and then nowhere on that list include ‘he likes me.’

@ColoWaterWise It would not be wise to move water from the Mississippi River. The way to "save" the river is use less water. We still have not learned to accept the limitations of the natural world. Change crops - yes Rip out lawns - yes Shower with a friend - yes

Such ideas include moving water from the Mississippi River, desalination of seawater, removing grass lawns, recycling water, raising prices, and changing farming practices. buff.ly/3XVLgEQ

Learning about elk through my son makes me proud that Rocky Mountain Wild works hard to protect important elk habitat and to maintain habitat connectivity. From our challenge to the Berlaimont development, to our efforts to construct wildlife bridges - we've got your back elk!

(1/2) U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District expect Ball Mountain Dam in Jamaica, Vermont and Townshend Dam in Townshend/Windham, Vermont to release large quantities of water over their spillways. This will result in severe flooding downstream of the dam.
