Bow residents @EastldnCAG20 told their story on #Newsnight last night. Leaseholders have been left in uncertainty - without clear plans from landlords on funding for the works.

“It’s a crisis of confidence, that’s affecting nearly every tall building in this country.” Shadow Housing Secretary @LucyMPowell says a “laissez-faire” approach to housing and building regulation over the last few years has catalysed the safety crisis #Newsnight

@Ed_Miliband Unless you’re connected the the PDHU #heatnetwork in Pimlico, in which case you’ll be billed up to £66,000 for what is essentially a new boiler.

This project, slammed by leading environmental organisations, has been designated a “project of national significance” by @Ed_Miliband. He claims to want lower bills for good but this will cost leaseholders up to £66,000 plus rent rises for tenants #Greenwashing @FuelPovAction

Westminster Council have shortlisted this as an option to replace the existing gas boilers that power the PDHU heat network in Pimlico. This blatant greenwashing forms part of their net zero strategy #heatnetwork #UnfairerWestminster

"Ofgem should implement price protections for heat network customers as an urgent priority. This needs to be simple and understandable and give equivalent protections as domestic gas and electricity customers receive."

@hiltonholloway £45k per property is just the cost of replacing the pipework. With the new heat source, the Council have estimated it could be up to £66k per property.

Read this. Fascinating. An old Pimlico heating network needs replacing. £45k per property. Switching a flat to an individual gas hearing system £3-5k per flat. And four times cheaper to run. Fancy ideas still not better than a basic boiler.

Why is nobody is talking about what happens to heat networks when they reach the end of their life? This is what residents in Pimlico are facing right now. pimlicounites.com/post/what-happ…
