@OverTheAlpsGame @indiegamesdevel Thank you! No our friend has no name yet. Ideas are very much welcome. The name of the project/game is also still blank...
English

@PineStark Looking so awesome!! 🙌🙌
What is this creature here, exactly??
English

@ashtaf130 The pixel can't be angled. If I would rotate the character it would get distorted if you get what I mean. I have to just change the character sprite to make it look more angled

Improved some animations. With tail now! :D

@devsanddorks Thank you! I knew it had to be animated by hand. Could still use some work but I'm happy so far :)
English

@PineStark I think you nailed the tail. Matches the rest of the animation so well.
English

@FireTotemGames yeah some imagination is required. This combination of pixels was the only cute/decent looking face I could come up with in such a small canvas
English

@PineStark Nice improvement on the tail. Definitely better than the skinnier ones in your comparison.
The only thing that I'm not fully happy with is the face. You told me this is a mix of an owl and a cat, but the face doesn't look like an owl to me. Not sure how to improve that tbh ...
English

@desertflame18 Its an owl griffon, originally it has a tail. I got inspired by images such as this one: tinyurl.com/ax3hth42
English

With or without a tail? All feeback welcome :)

@Exilecast Thanks for the follows!
I can finally get back to the creative/artsy aspects of the game after weeks of programming🥰
English

@PineStark Great! I really like what you have been doing. I've also been following the project (your posts) on Reddit 😄.
English

@Exilecast The tails were procedurally animated so there wasn't much controll. Right now I'm animating the tail by hand. It's already looking better if you ask me :)
English

@PineStark I think A and B look a bit weird compared with the rest of the body movement. Maybe because it has more frames? I would say C. Anyways, if you want to had a tail maybe try to work with the same n° of frames of the rest of the body? Just my suggestion of course.
English

@PineStark Yeah, there is not much to do right now other than walking/climbing around, but I hope this will change soon. No idea what the gameplay loop will be tho 🙈
Ok, thanks for the explanation. Very smart.
How are you creating the flowing motion?
English

@FireTotemGames Ah cool I've seen your spider-game before. Looks fun!
I'm basically rendering in a low resolution so I could use a line renderer with my own texture and move that around
English

@PineStark Yeah, you are using procedural animations. I also started playing around with it. Check out my last tweets to get an idea what I'm working on.
I didn't think your tail was procedurally animated. How did you do it? Especially in pixel art?
English

@FireTotemGames The tails in the video are procedurally animated via code. I'm glad you like it and I also think it needs a tail but with this technique it isn't quite right.
I'm going to animate it by hand which gives me more controll and precision over the movement😁
English

@PineStark Based on your reference it should have a tail and I really love the animations for A and B, but C is also good because it has a more consistent character outline.
If you really want to go with a tail, I would choose A because of the two colors, but I'm happy with all of them 😎
English

@FireTotemGames An owl griffin, got inspired by images like these: tinyurl.com/ax3hth42
English

@PineStark What kind of animal or mixture of animals should this character resemble?
English

@limesprites Option C might have that, the wings are overlapping it ;)
English

@PineStark oh that pixel perfect and smooth parallaxing is just perfect 👀
