The incident occurred Saturday morning around 7AM outside the YVE Hotel on Biscayne Blvd. & NE 2nd St. after officers responded to a report of a man in his 20s acting erratically.
Officers attempted to de-escalate the situation, used a Taser and pepper spray, which were apparently not effective — and an officer fired at the man.
Miami Police Chief Manny Morales said he "appeared to have non-life-threatening injuries," and was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital for treatment along with one officer injured during the incident.

Japan’s major oil company ENEOS has succeeded for the first time in producing synthetic fuel (e-fuel) — made without using petroleum — from CO₂ in the air and water at its facility in Yokohama.
The demonstration plant’s current production scale is still very small at 1 barrel per day (roughly the size of one drum), but the company aims to scale it up to 10,000 barrels per day by 2040.
Although it is still at the experimental stage, this is drawing attention as a new fuel that could reduce dependence on petroleum.
In the timeline we’re currently living in, the move away from oil appears to be beginning at the same time as the move away from the US dollar.

I have instructed the relevant authorities that Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, the Latin Patriarch, be granted full and immediate access to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem.

Today, out of special concern for his safety, Cardinal Pizzaballa was asked to refrain from holding mass at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
Even though I understand this concern, as soon as I learned about the incident with Cardinal Pizzaballa, I instructed the authorities to enable the Patriarch to hold services as he wishes.
