Pinnacles National Park is CLOSED!
Historic and hazardous flood conditions are creating highly dangerous conditions at the park. Both entrances are closed at this time and will reopen when the conditions clear.

Tomorrow, Labor Day, is expected to be the hottest day of the year!
Predicted temps of 115 degrees are going to be even hotter on trail.
Hiking on trail in these conditions is not safe.

The marine influence on the Bay Area can be seen this PM across the San Francisco where today's max temperature peaked at 66°F. Meanwhile, Livermore reached 106°F. Similarly for the Central Coast with Monterey peaking at 66°F while Pinnacles National Park reach 110°F. #CAHeat

@Zoobaby2003 Pinnacles is an extremely vertical park, with limited options not on-trail; The West side tends to have better views of the rock formations, but nature centers will not be open and the road only goes a few miles in. The best summer activity at Pinnacles is stargazing!

@PinnaclesNPS Hi! I’m stopping at this wonderful park for the 1st time (coming from Sacramento to Ventura) & hope to see condors! I saw the tips online & wanted to ask about seeing them without hiking anywhere (physically can’t at the moment)I’ll be there before visitor center opens tomorrow

⚠️EXTREME HEAT WARNING
According to the National Weather Service, in-park temperatures will exceed 110(F) degrees for the upcoming holiday weekend.
Park operations are likely to be disrupted due to heat, and visitors are advised to avoid hiking on trail.

Shuttle services have finished for the season, and will resume in November! Visitors to the east side should expect to walk to their trailheads if they park in the overflow parking lot.

The Bear Gulch caves will close on Monday May 16 for the next two months per the typical annual closure schedule. Balconies caves will remain open.
