The caves, Chalone Peak trail beginning at the reservoir junction, and Chaparral parking lot (as seen in the photo) will all remain closed. Much of the surrounding area is still experiencing significant and severe flooding, and more rain is expected this weekend.

All roads and trails are closed to all visitors. The campground on the east side will remain open at this time only to visitors with existing reservations, but all trails and roads into the park are closed and not permitted for visitation. #flood #closure

Pinnacles National Park is CLOSED! Historic and hazardous flood conditions are creating highly dangerous conditions at the park. Both entrances are closed at this time and will reopen when the conditions clear. Read more at the news release below: nps.gov/pinn/learn/new…

Exercise caution visiting the park during and after storms! Hazardous conditions like flooding, rockfalls, and tree falls like the several that have occurred in the last few days can persist even after storms subside.

The Balconies caves have been closed due to flooding as of this morning! With additional rain coming this whole next week, the caves are expected to remain closed through the next week at least.

The marine influence on the Bay Area can be seen this PM across the San Francisco where today's max temperature peaked at 66°F. Meanwhile, Livermore reached 106°F. Similarly for the Central Coast with Monterey peaking at 66°F while Pinnacles National Park reach 110°F. #CAHeat

@Zoobaby2003 Pinnacles is an extremely vertical park, with limited options not on-trail; The West side tends to have better views of the rock formations, but nature centers will not be open and the road only goes a few miles in. The best summer activity at Pinnacles is stargazing!

@PinnaclesNPS Hi! I’m stopping at this wonderful park for the 1st time (coming from Sacramento to Ventura) & hope to see condors! I saw the tips online & wanted to ask about seeing them without hiking anywhere (physically can’t at the moment)I’ll be there before visitor center opens tomorrow

The West Entrance is CLOSED today for road work, and will be on July 18 and 19 as well. All arriving visitors should go to the EAST side of the park, off Highway 25.

Pinnacles is now in HIGH fire danger; At this time, smoking on trails is now prohibited. Fires and charcoal grills are still permitted, until such time as the park moves to the VERY HIGH level.

The West side of Pinnacles will be conducting road work tomorrow, MONDAY APRIL 25, along the narrow entry road. Expect minor delays, and be cautious and respectful of our park employees working along the roadsides!
