@ramborivera @MediumSizeMeech I’m 100% sure one single guy wasn’t responsible for this decision. Firstly, that’s not how Hulu works. Secondly, if you read about the news about the problems with the scripts and the rejected pilot. everything indicated that this was not going to be promising.

I think that tells you all you need to know. the leaked script is dated halloween ‘24, a few months before the initial announcement So the leaked script is probably close to what they had when they initially announced the show.

I think the leaked script was one of the early drafts (hence the working name ‘Nova’ for the young slayer instead of Rowan). It was re-written, then they filmed the pilot. The pilot didn’t pass muster so they rewrote the script once more & Hulu rejected it.

They were asked to rewrite & all they did was add more scenes to the existing bad pilot extending it to 90 mins. So Hulu cancelled it Was cancelled because it was not good

So far we have had an exec blamed, Zhao thrown under the bus and now an attempt at the script being fake yet it was filmed and presented to Hulu who asked for a rewrite then rejected the rewrite

The burden is lifted somewhat, yes, but I think her arc leaves it pretty clear that being a Slayer is part of who she is. Working in a cubicle as “Anne”? Rehash

@DamoDavies3 Interesting, I take the smile at the end of “Chosen” to mean she’s going off to live for a while. We also only have the script of one scene, we don’t know she isn’t slaying outside of her office job…

Can we pause for a moment and question why it’s an issue to only reveal #Buffy at the end of the pilot? From the outset the idea was transitioning to a new Slayer with Buffy in a Giles/Watcher role. She’s the ace up this series’ sleeve so why not build up to a big reveal?
