You'll be surprised at how quickly a developed society can fall without oil. All this bs about semiconductors being the "life blood" of our economy means nothing when your entire economy is paralyzed, and food prices skyrockets because of logistic shortfalls. WHICH BEGS THE QUESTION. If the US can't do jack against Iran about this global energy crisis, then why do people think they will give a damn about Taiwan over semiconductors? I'm pretty sure people can live with a delayed iPhone release or the AI stock bubble bursting. Oil is still the foundation of modern society and the US has been exposed, unable to maintain the flow of it to their allies.
