STRK STAKING ON THE WAY - A HUGE STEP FOR STARKNET GOVERNANCE - @Starknet’s first governance proposal has been approved with massive majority support, and $STRK staking is now on the way. - The proposal received a whopping 98.94% support from participants, equivalent to around 1.4 billion $STRK worth of voting power. - Meanwhile, only 0.61% voted against the proposal, with voting power to the tune of just 8.3 million $STRK. - A further 0.45% of voting power was given to ‘abstain’. - Staking is expected to go live some time in the fourth quarter of this year, and anyone with over 20,000 tokens will be able to engage, per reports. - According to The Block, however, there will be a 21-day locking period, before which stakers will be unable to withdraw their staked $STRK tokens. - The passing of the proposal marks a major milestone for the Starknet ecosystem in its journey towards decentralized governance. “we are moving closer to having a network that is fully operated and run by the community for the community” … said Starkware CEO, Eli Ben-Sasson, according to The Block.
