I know a number of creators who have tried running anthologies with varying degrees of success. I have my own that I'd really like to launch as well; however, the market has been less than ideal for indie books lately, so I'm focusing on getting my book out first while having the sample stories prepped for a test run.

@PixelTraitor @DonalTDeLay Same. I do think anthologies with popular characters, good “done in one” stories (instead of the typical ongoing micro chapters) paired with great art would work a lot better in the US nowadays though.

I wonder why that is, because I don’t think it’s a consequence of streaming. It’s just easy to blame.

Hope and reality are sometimes not in alignment, unfortunately. Though I'd much rather see human creativity on display than what's presented here. I have to interact with AI on the development level as part of my job. A year ago, the models would fall on their faces when given complex tasks. Now, it's scary how well they work. Some of the output is still spaghetti code, but it's getting better with every release. It feels more like I have a junior to mid-level dev that I'm peer coding with rather than someone that copies codeblocks from Reddit or StackOverflow.

@DreadedDinosaur I remember Spy Hunter being one of the first arcade games that I pumped a bunch of quarters into. I think the most money I've ever put into a game was to beat RevolutionX, though.
