@Brewers_Kitchen I dont know what the archetype needs but izzets current success is just because it plays a pile of value that rewards you for playing the game. "Play spells typal" is exactly why beanstalk was so ridiculous.

@Brewers_Kitchen Maybe he could work in an esper/dimir aristocrats shell. Im thinking things with flash that disrupt your opponents and also add bodies to the board. Like floodpits drowner and faebloom trick. Aang and counterspells access for gy hate...

@jen_tcg Casual, I'll play through my turn and they can interrupt me if they have a response. At competitive, I will prompt them to respond after a second, "if this resolves, then..." or just straight ask them.

what’s the proper etiquette for playing irl and confirming that your opponent won’t respond to your effects? last week when I went to my first local, I would play a card, and then my opponent and I awkwardly stared at each other for a few seconds before I played another one. 😭

@thinkiamsad Packs are fine, I dont know that Id spend wildcards on a set that rotates out next jan/feb at this juncture. But 12? Rares isnt too bad. Prowess isn't beginner friendly, though. it has a lot of little decisions to make that add up over time.

btw what's the cheapest way for me to get my hands on more of the rares i need for my Izzet Prowess Standard deck. do i really just need to buy OTJ packs until i either get them or the wildcards? (also yes i know Izzet is OP and a crutch, i'm still new!!! i NEED a crutch)

Regular REL prerelease, you’re in the last round playing for prize. Opponent throws, catches it and asks if they can take back (and likely run a line that wins them the match). Do you let them?

@MtgSodek I've been running with leyline of sanctity in the side for thoughtsieze and other effects, but redirect lightning is compelling.

@OM_GamerV @kingboozx3 @PKMN_twt If you consider that getting the free switch is like taking an extra turn, it adds a layer of challenge. But it can become irrelevant if you have a high level guy who just sweeps everything. Best used alongside rules like level caps or no battle items. Or both.

@OM_GamerV @PKMN_twt Switch vs set. Switch is the default, where the game prompts you if you want to switch pokemon when you ko an enemy, and tells you what they're bringing out. Set doesnt do that, you have to take a turn to swap mon, just like in PvP.

@PKMN_twt "Uses legendaries"? WTF are you talking about? Never found a legendary in my life😒 All I do is make sure each of my Pokemon has a counter in my 6, that way i can always respond. Also, what is "Switch Mode"? 😅

@RemusOkami I think my favorite version of Flubs is dragons approach. You can power out some very powerful dragons very quickly.

Kinda wild how bad these turned out to be. I play Midgar in aristocrat-y decks, but even there it's mostly just a tapped land 🙄 Did anybody have more success with them?

Is it morally okay to leave this down with your lands in EDH? I used to have this in my Dina deck, I thought it was a fun Easter egg! And I thought people knew all about it. Instead it caused a lot of confusion. Do people still have strong MTG feelings about this card?

Except now that I am reading this, I think they were wrong? I haven't touched this deck in years but you don't get infinite delina triggers by copying harmonic prodigy, do you? Maybe I just got embarrassed because was upset. I need to ask a judge.

One of my favorite decks, full of my favorite cards. But I never noticed there was essentially an infinite combo in it. One day someone pointed it out and scooped on the spot. I felt so bad! I couldn't believe I didn't notice what my deck was doing. I haven't played it since.

@wzrdnx Obligation is a peculiar word to use here, I like it. I would not feel obligated as such to do anything- in the context of cEDH, I am not there to facilitate the feelings of the table. I will take whatever action I feel gives me the best odds of winning.

@MtgSodek Im so intrigued by this deck. I have an old goblin storm deck that shares enough of the bits that I'm excited to play with again.

4th trophy🏆 36-9 this week while playing Red Belcher - seems solid to me! During this league, I tested Talisman of Conviction + Orim's Chant main. Both felt fine. The Legend of Roku in the sideboard is a total miss - I never even thought about siding it in. Guide soon!
