This is so true. Never mind not making money from it, in 15 years of running @echoesanddust I’ve probably dropped about 20 grand in running costs & most of our patron members are our writers.

Most music writers now work for free or peanuts, do it out of pure passion and the love of sharing music, yet I'm told regularly about how we leech off struggling artists and we make good money while artists make nothing. Not the case. Let's respect each other.
