@abracing0 He wasn't stopping at the line but I think 6f sprints and races like the Prix Maurice De Gheest would suit him. He looks to be a few pounds behind what's needed to win at a mile in G1 company. That means that 6-7f races are a much realistic target for him. A bookies friend...

@ciaranodeorain That's a reasonable assumption, though probably one more based on style than substance. FWIW both horses have Grand National levels of Stamina, DI 0.57 for LA and 0.56 for PB ( nothing in it ) LA a high quality pacemaker, PB a horse that needs a trip to really get going?

@ciaranodeorain Exactly, to me he's basically a Los Angeles 2.0 who was a good 12f horse but one without the necessary classic-speed to win at Epsom. A Hawk Mountain type ( supposedly stride pattern against him ) or something emerging from serious Trials is what people should be looking to

@PlebianShaadi Devil's advocate: Ballydoyle usually send their best middle-distance type 2yos to Leopardstown and Doncaster, not the Zetland and/or Saint-Cloud

@ciaranodeorain Destroy's a strong word alright he was really going away from the 2nd here in France. He's a bull of a horse and it's hard to get that kind of horse fit. By Irish ( not Epsom ) Derby time his ribs will be like a greyhound's.

@ciaranodeorain You're correct for a reason... For a jumps handicap it seems that Stamina Breeding sorts the wheat from the chaff when it comes to the great National Horses I Am Maximus DI 0.51 Tiger Roll DI 0.58 Red Rum DI 0.60 Those are Ascot Gold Cup winner levels of Stamina

@aobrienfansite He's an enigma of a horse. Obviously he's been ridiculously over-hyped but he showed enough as a 2yo to suggest he's a possible G1 horse . Aidan has been consistent about his speed but his pedigree says he can go at least 8f. Looks like King Of Steel, same colour, same big head

My thoughts on Albert Einstein, for those interested. The ground clearly didn’t help, but for me, he’s never really looked like a natural sprinter to me he actually made progress late on. Let’s be honest—keenness has been an issue, and that’s part of the reason he was here today. My granddad used to say, “Trust the formbook, not the hype.” There’s been a huge amount of talk about this horse—maybe too much talk without enough substance to fully support it. We all want to see the next superstar, we all dream of it—but today felt like one of those moments where the bubble bursts a little. That said, there’s no doubt he can improve from here. The question is when—and over what trip. Personally, I always felt Gstaad had the stronger form in the book and was the one to beat for the Newmarket Guineas. In hindsight, that view looks even more solid now. Onwards and upwards.

@abracing0 City Of Troy was a G1 proven Champion 2yo who simply bounced back. Albert Einstein can easily bounce back to being the group horse that he already is but we're none the wiser about what his 3yo level will be.

@ciaranodeorain It's pretty clear that the horse was out for a run not out to give his best. We've been here before any amount of times. The horse is worth a nibble for the 2,000 at the big prices, if he ends up there his price will drop like a stone

FWIW, Albert Einstein’s run today wasn’t any worse than either Auguste Rodin’s or City Of Troy’s runs in the 2,000 Guineas Aidan’s comments (but more importantly his actions) in the lead-up to the Guineas will be telling

@Richard40116351 @aobrienfansite The Dam is by War Front out of a half ( Galileo) sister to Giants Causeway, she was always going to stud ASAP once she had black type in the bag. I wouldn't be too worried about him being too precocious, he's a spectacular specimen of good size who wasn't rushed back.

@PlebianShaadi @aobrienfansite Still a big question over this fellow ! Dam despite showing brilliance never appeared after June of her 2 year old career ! He like her gone wrong at 2 ! Has to break this pattern to win the Guineas

@i_horseracing I'd take it as a sign that at least they aren't using the 2,000 as an introduction to the season for him, so that if he runs in the 2,000 he won't be woefully undercooked.

Ballydoyle running their main 2000 Guineas hope in a prep race is a change from their usual strategy and I'm thinking it has to be significant.

@aobrienfansite @Richard40116351 Ah but in hindsight the Breeding wasn't really there for them to win the Guineas 2 x War Front and 2 x No Nay Never A whole heap of precocity, meanwhile Aidan's Wootton Bassets like Henry Matisse and Camile Pissarro trained on from two to win Classics at three.

@aobrienfansite Thought he would bomb out without a previous run in the Guineas. Now he'll go there with a run under his belt there's no reason that he should bomb out. He's got a bit to prove.

@aobrienfansite Great for the game but seriously he was beating trees and didn't exactly look like a horse who had a minimum of stones in hand of the 2nd. The 3rd beaten 6L at 50/1 he was beaten in his previous race by 5L at 200/1 by a horse that ran to a rpr of 71

@ciaranodeorain I hear you, but what is Class in horse racing? The Grand National staying races are races for those who can't or no longer can quite make it in all age G1 company. Former G1 winning form is now less important in the race than it was in previous years.
