The oldest meat & fish markets in London, which date back 850 years, face closure from 2028. Smithfield meat market & Billingsgate fish market are to close after the City of London Corporation recently voted to withdraw support. A huge blow to independent fresh food suppliers.

@MartinKnight_ We had a Unigate dairy in the next street. I do remember the milk floats as they were then called regularly running out of battery on a round and being towed back to base in the afternoon.
