Guys I think Reeza needs to be a test batsman. He is a proper cricketer. Hits classic cricket shots and sometimes looks like he struggles to “slog”.

Australia should show some mercy on the Proteas and just bat for all 5 days without ever declaring so we don’t have to watch us bat.

@DeanOelsch Look at the demographic that goes to 'academy' of this kind and ask yourself the real question why they are going?I also benefited from this, not saying it's wrong but it's not the same as when a union paid for 30 kids around townships to meet at Wanderers for quality coaching.

@DeanOelsch Unfortunately, as hard as it is to hear this, he is a part of the problem. Kids 6 - 13 aren't developed enough to hit the ball along the ground past the in field. The ONLY kids that go to a cricket 'academy' can afford to go to it, therefore dictate what they want to learn.

I know a guy who runs a cricket academy in JHB for 6-13 year olds. From 6 they teach kids how to hit over the top. He says no kid wants to learn how to leave outside off or punch through the covers or bat at a SR of 50. Long format cricket in SA is in real trouble and that’s sad.

@SuperSportTV I don't understand what more @reezahendricks has to do. He is asked to bat 50 overs in ODI, 20 overs in T20? Does both successfully, gets benched in T20 and now can't make a team that can't collectively bat 50 overs. Please help me understand? #RSAvsAUS

This is all on CSA. An insipid 4 day tournament, no development of batsmen, poor selections, poor coaching, poor management of players. I don’t think they give one shit about test cricket.

@DeanOelsch At the end of the day, all we breed is average from the age of 13 and they WILL be earmarked to higher honors. FACT. While Ireland, NZ, NED are licking their lips at their new intake of free talent the conveyor belt keeps feeding them; players and coaches alike.

@DeanOelsch Well, they have a directive, a rather stupid one for an 11-man team. Extrapolate ALL the way to u13 and see how quickly it gets stuffed. From personal experience, you don't want to go to a tournament to carry drinks for 3/5 days in your school holidays.
