Earlier today, law enforcement agencies led by the South African Police Service conducted Operation Shanela II across parts of the Sedibeng District, resulting in the destruction of more than 3 million milliliters of confiscated liquor. The Gauteng Liquor Board commends SAPS and all agencies involved for their continued efforts to strengthen compliance in the liquor sector and eradicate the distribution of illegal and counterfeit alcohol in our communities. Operations of this nature demonstrate a strong commitment towards promoting responsible liquor trading, protecting communities, and addressing the social harms often associated with illicit alcohol. #OperationShanela #ResponsibleTrading #GautengAtWork

I ended my night at Dinokeng Game Reserve, delivering a message of support at a high-level stakeholder engagement bringing together the diplomatic corps, media, government, and the business sector. This engagement followed my meeting with the Gauteng Tourism Authority and forms part of a broader effort to ensure that we continue to grow the Gauteng tourism economy, strengthening its contribution to jobs, investment, and provincial GDP.
